should the town of Mansfield, Texas change its name to Personfield, TX because it’s too masculine?
should Mr. Black change his last name because he isn’t actually black?
I think it’s safe to assume you are probably one who rejoiced when you head this change by ALPA. You people are the cancer of our society!

I was hired 29 years ago. If that type of nonsense used to be spouted by some pilots, it’s ancient history, because I never heard people say it. I’m sure in the 60’s and 70’s, things were different, but the industry has evolved, and this is simply a solution in search of a problem.

don’t believe me, just look at the dozens of (female) pilot influencers on Instagram.

don’t be too hard on yourself it’s a tough case to defend.
CBreezy left…she realized she couldn’t defend this non-sense anymore so she make a snarky comment and left and I imagine that’s what you will do too.

It is pretty simple. I have heard plenty of misoginy and racism in the cockpit. And plenty of pilots still deny that that is true. And they are all butthurt that all legacies "only" hire minorities. Does that mean I like calling them NOTAMissions now? No, not really. And I honestly don't know if it will change much, if anything. But at least it is an effort to correct what has been wrong for a long time, and is still going on. And if I have to call it the chickpit for the rest of my career so be it. Just knowing it gets your blood pressure up is worth it.

I’ve been in the industry for 24 years. Cockpit was a frowned upon term when I started. You’re a bit late to the outrage party. I also think flight deck sounds stupid like it’s the top of an aircraft carrier or something. In my opinion it should have been called the poste de pilotage or something to align with the other French based terms for aircraft sections. I blame the Wright brothers for the term cockpit since the wright flyer was steered with their …. pelvis.
