Article 1 is a PRIVATE school. It's none of your business what they teach. If private schools can teach the earth is 2000 years old, they can teach that white people are racist.
Article 2 is an opinion piece from a national organization. And they aren't necessarily incorrect. We need to teach the good AND the bad about this country. It's not "indoctrination" to teach about redlining in the north and south. It's not indoctrination to learn about the Tulsa Race Riots.

Maybe the best part is, our relationship with them was so easy and positive, as they weren't being taught conflicting values. Plus, we had a great time visiting historic sites when they were young as part their history/ sociology training. Never any battles over tattoos, or other stupid social trends.

Too funny. I would think parents would want their children to learn how to think for themselves and not parrot their parents' views and beliefs. Sorry, but you can't shelter your children from the real world. It's coming one way or another and lessons get more costly the longer they wait to learn them.

I know, small sample size and all, but of the three Canadians I know well, they all despise the healthcare system up there. One happens to be a doctor that came to the states.

We taught 4. All are thriving, with families themselves and were able to enter higher ed and /or workplace without a hitch. We had them tested every year with Stanford Achievement tests, and they consistently scored years ahead of their PS peers. They socialized very easily with people of all ages, from early on thru interactions at church, sports, clubs like 4-H , Boyscouts, and volunteer service. Two, had offers to walk on interview for academics scholarships at several ivy league schools..(They turned them down).

And while our kids are instilled with our values from a very early age, I do not want them to be parrots of us. We want them exposed to all kinds of different philosophies and ethical frameworks so that, in the future, they can come to their own conclusions and be about to think critically and adapt in a different society than I and even they will grow old in.
