All of the spend is in administration. Administration has exploded on a per student basis.

But school also socializes kids, so homeschooling carries risks in that regard. Depends on the kid, and also what opportunities they have to interact with other kids and society in general.

Charter and private schools are probably better overall. Charter schools = taking back the education system from self-absorbed teacher unions and extremist politicians.
That’s a pilot reaction. I know it all and can deliver it better because I have a child development education and know all there is to know through an eighth grade level. And/or I can search google and YouTube in the middle of the night when I turn on my internet connection because I protect my kids.

You may not be aware, but I actually lived it for 13 years (K-12) and got a college full ride out of the deal. So no I don't need a MA in education to understand the lay of the land. Also one of my parents is an educator.

For my kids, I just want the Three R's, and how to play well with others. They can skip the political indoc.

In the 21st centurty, my kids should be at least at the academic level I was at their age. If no progress, at least no regression. Mostly been able to get there, but had to jump through hoops with charter schools and choicing out of zone.

You need to stop watching scary news. Kids aren't being indoctrinated...well unless you mean in Louisiana, then you might be right

Too funny. I would think parents would want their children to learn how to think for themselves and not parrot their parents' views and beliefs. Sorry, but you can't shelter your children from the real world. It's coming one way or another and lessons get more costly the longer they wait to learn them.

Of course, that's exactly what someone who supports any indoctrination would say... just sayin'.

the “do your own research” crowd is full of sheltered, functionally illiterate people that are spoon fed obvious propaganda, while thinking the same is the case for the opposition. Hopeless
