If you were me
I'm at a crossroads in my aviation career and I was hoping for some input/advice.
Personal info: 39 y/o single male no kids.
Qualifications:
COMM AMEL, CFII
4000 Total
350 ME
3800 PIC
100 Night
85 Instrument
At the current time, I am employed with a state agency flying a Pa28 and Pa31s for 36k p/yr approximately 300-400 hours p/yr. My QOL is excellent 8-5 M-F with occasional weekend on-call. This position is also very secure and provides typical state employee benefits and retirement.
The only con with this position is lack of pay increases and nowhere to advance as a pilot within the agency.
I feel the need to move on to flying more complex airplanes and seeing more of the country and beyond if able. So... what would you do?
Regionals?
135?
Corporate?
Thanks.

Trans States. Suck it up for 2 years, get your turbine PIC time, go someplace better(by better I mean mainline, you just need the turbine experience). Heck, you could live on peanuts if you don't have a car payment.

lol you got me there. Go crazy as in Europe, Africa, etc. Some african countries use FAA license. I was offered a job in Uganda but I had just gotten a contract with the airforce at that point. I still wish I would have gone I've always wanted to get my hands on a BN2 Islander and give it hell on some grass stips!
