The 747-400 and dash 8 have an Auto setting for bank angle. The FCON says the bank angle varies between 15 - 25 degrees, depending on TAS, flap position, and V2. I never took it out of Auto.

Hopefully they know that we will (should) follow ATC headings but disregard ATC altitude instructions during an RA.

They will attempt to achieve vertical separation if necessary. If two planes are in their danger circle, altitude will clear that faster than heading, especially in the FL's.
