lolz, from the same website:
Measuring the impact of Western sanctions on Russia’s economy is not an exact science. The companion piece to this article suggests that by early 2023, the country’s real GDP was 7-10% below what it would have been had sanctions not been applied following the invasion of Ukraine.
i guess anyone can play the “find an article to support my opinion”

i think we can all agree that you have been saying the sky is falling on ukraine for the last year, to include europe throwing in the toweI and leaving ukraine to the dogs. I believe that is what the gentleman is implying.

Clearly, many EU nations care less about the Ukraine people than their own internal politics.
But the real point is geographic.
While this could go on for decades (https://www.reuters.com/world/europe...er-2023-05-26/) if it ever does end it will have to deal with the fact that it shares a common border with Russia. If there is ever going to be peace, there either needs to be a diplomatic solution or a change in the government of one or both countries.
And none of that changes the fact that the GDP estimates are World Bank and International Monetary Fund ones, not Russian ones.

Opinions are indeed like @$$holes, everyone’s got one. What MIGHT our GDP have been without COVID? What MIGHT our GDP have been had the Fed not raised interest rates to rein in inflation? Most of “the dismal science” is at best a SWAG. So yeah, opinions often differ. Is this news to you?

hmm, well if you reference your post above wrt GDP i guess you and i have a different understanding of what the word “objectively “ means.
What are your thoughts on your prediction that the EU would abandon ukraine by march of 23? Are you adult enough to admit you were wrong?
ill admit that i was wrong that ukraine would be able to push the lines back to pre conflict boundaries by summer. I don’t think they will be able.

UK Drones Damage RU Intel Gathering Ship
The Russian Intel Ship "Ivan Khurs" which was very far away, only 40 miles north of Istanbul. Russians are claiming it's fine but video from nearby ships shows a lot of smoke.
Artur Rehi is a YouTuber who does a lot of UK videos. This one is funnier than normal and has feed from the drone boats hitting the ship:

That may be harder than it sounds. P. is a darling of the RU extreme right... kind of like biden having AOC knocked off, not going to play well with the base.
Also P. has his own private army and security who may be loyal to him. Although I'd never underestimate the ability of the FSB or SVR to penetrate any institution.

In fact that whole thread is filled with hilarious predictions that never came to fruition. Wingedbeast even said he thought the Ukrainians would fold immediately.
i guess the governments of the western world did not hold the same view as fox news.
