The “reality” on the battlefield is that UA has momentum. They have opened new breaches every couple of months, they have attrited RU forces on a scale of 1-4. They have continuously taken ground for the last 6 months. This of course may be a huge lie, but i choose to believe the entire western world’s intelligence apparatus backed ip by third party geolocation of both troop positions and destroyed equipment.
if you want to believe RU propaganda thats on you. Until proven otherwise, my assessment is that UA is still on the move, and the RU cannot stop them atm.
the RU just lost a combat groups worth of equipment in 10 days. Soak that in
i challange anyone to refute these statements with hard data……..otherwise you are just spinning words like children mad that the game isnt going your way. Just because the magic propaganda light box makes you want ukraine to lose, does not make it a reality

The “reality” on the battlefield as you say is crap. You don’t have any better information than than rest of us. You’re simply a cheerleader. And you know insult people who are not pro Russia, but just pragmatic in what that see. Ukraine is not getting the four disputed provinces back. That’s a fact.

More to the point are these issues:
1. A third of the Ukraine is now tainted with unexploded ordnance.
2. Massive infrastructure damage has occurred.
3. Over a hundred thousand military on each side have been killed and/or sustained permanent serious impairments.
4. When all is said and done Russia and Ukraine will still share a common border.
5. Ukraine had a declining population even before this war (as did Russia for that matter) but many of those Ukrainians now displaced to the EU will never return to their old lives in Ukraine.
6. The US, which cannot even meet its own recruiting goals, is seriously overextended.

Ive never said ukraine will get their land back. Ive never said ukraine will out right win. in fact, i said that the best outcome is a cease fire and all stop. Western objectives of reducing RUs ability to continue into the next eastern block state have been met. They will not be able to bite on another nation for decades.
I merely relay what is transpiring on the battlefield as various MoDs from many western nations report, and is corroborated through various third party organizations.
the only zealot here is you as you cannot seem to be able to separate your emotions from generally accepted and current reality.

do you believe the assessments of ISW are fabricated?

You are the one that established the metric of success for the Ukraine as complete removal of Russian troops from the internationally recognized borders of Ukraine. By that metric, little has been accomplished by the Spring counteroffensive. While it is true that last year’s Ukraine offensive against the vastly overextended Russian forces got 50+% of the occupied territories back, the Spring counteroffensive has been largely a ‘push’ in terms of area with Russian advances in the east offsetting the Ukrainian gains in the south.
And yes, IF the Ukrainians can actually get in a position to effectively interdict the supplies going to the Russians in the south that MIGHT lead them into a breakthrough but thus far the spring offensive has largely been a stalemate with both sides absorbing huge numbers of casualties and in a war of attrition it’s usually the bigger guy that comes out ahead. Please quote where i said the only success is ru leaving ukraine. That is a desire (mine), and a desire of the United states, not the sole measure of success.
