Recorded the farewell Mash episode I spotted looking for something else, a few months back. Watched last night, had not seen it since 1st aired in ‘83. They included reflections of cast members, taped recently. The guy who played BJ said, on the last days of combat in Korea (ballpark 2m casualties military/civilian) fighting was especially intense as result of ceasefire terms dropping the DMZ at the exact hour negotiated.

If there’s any legitimate Western intent to end senseless loss of life while perusing lasting overthrow of Communist authoritarian tyranny, not one NATO leader has backed such a path. Why not, one can only speculate.

Look at trench warfare in WWI. Almost as many died of disease as combat wounds. You wallow around in filth for weeks at a time - even before mud season. And I doubt the Russians have it any better - likely even worse. Two conscript armies, dying of trauma and disease.

-for the first time Ukrainians are now shooting more artillery rounds per day than the RU
