IIRC, the TX ANG is sending dudes to UPT with a known UAV follow-on. Same 10 year commitment, just in a trailer in the desert.

Ya our 16's are being taken away as we speak with a "so called" replacement of UAV's i don't want to be a R'C pilot for the Military I've got enough planes in the garage as it is.

Airline life can actually be pretty good for family life if you are in the right circumstances, which usually requires seniority.

If you start young and stay single (or at least childless) while working your way up you will be free to jump on critical career opportunities as they come. The question is how long do you want to wait? At your age you could probably be at a major airline (and off reserve hopefully) by age 30-35.

Also living in the city you are based in is a huge quality of life factor.
