It’s unfair to ask someone to do something they cannot do…just accept Bad Vlad’s “Nazis!!!” explanation and move along…

Payback for Stalingrad or half a century occupation in the GDR?

We have our 1% too. That doesn't mean RU would be justified in invading Alaska and pushing down through Canada to Coeur d'Alene to wipe them out

That's because the real world is tough to get used to when you've lived life as ward and property of the State. Their kids don't miss it.

My sister in law misses some things about the USSR, but that's an intersection of childhood nostalgia for simpler times and having adult responsibilities in the real world. She did quickly gravitate to government employment in the US lol.

My Polish buddy doesn't miss it all... he got out in the trunk of a car at age 15.

You have me a bit surprised with this one Winged.

Your posts reflect pretty standard positions taken by people with a certain political alignment.
A sympathetic view of Communist East Germany, (or if you prefer, Stasiland ), is not typical for that crowd. Such a positive view would have been more in keeping with a diehard Marxist who had developed delusional sympathies during WW2 for the Soviet "peasant-workers democracy". Pretty much an extinct breed.

Which brings me to my question. Where and how did you arrive at such a conclusion as you stated? (particularly the "most people" portion)

Warsaw I think. Got out in the 80's, drove into the DDR with an uncle and then across the border in the trunk.

As with the Kremlin special operation, Nazi losses (800,000) on the Volga were largely a consequence of a psychotic ultimatum to seize Black Sea treasure at any price. The stoic defense of which is once again a case study in death before dishonor. Hard to look at. Near impossible to rationalize. Which is why they've locked the door on conscripts attempting to flee.

You are insane. Literally

Even if your fantasy of nazis fighting for a Jewish president were true. If you actually had the United States best interests at heart, you would know that a weakened Russia only helps us in the long run. You are so childishly focused on “owning” the other party, you are literally advocating for a direct enemy of the untied states to win a contest that was of their own doing. The level of crazy here is insurmountable, and you have lost track of reality. Good luck
