Yes, the military does it...stretched over 13 months. Its not even comparable. You wouldn't believe the stuff kids do at 20 hours in the air force. Its a testament to how well the program can work.
Nobody is saying ATP is crap...there are plenty of good pilots and instructors there.

I do understand Scope and I understand that Ultimately it hurts Pilots As a Group. You don't see Flight attandants saying because you work a 50pax flight you can't be apart of Our Airline... The point that scope makes no sense to pilots as a group! Can U please Explain to me POPA?

Keiundraj,
Your mistake lies in one sentence of your original post. You said pilots at airlines don't want their fellow pilots flying smaller aircraft. That is, in point of fact, completely false. What pilot groups don't want is a DIFFERENT pilot group flying an aircraft of equal or GREATER size for less money. Mainline guys would fly RJs for mainline rates, not regional rates. Caving on this issue would bring the entire pay standard down.
Furthermore, you make the comparison that the regional guy makes 54$ to the mainline guy making 87$ for similar equipment. By eliminating the scope clause the HIGHER paying job gets eliminated, ergo all pay rates go DOWN.
I know this is 'I want to be a pilot' 101 for most but I'm trying to help the poor kid out.

You're not trying to help me out sir. I'm a rational thinker! What you're suggesting is the that Mainline pilots are saying Better them than Me...
Here's what's happening though!!! The Majors are making money off the Regionals, the Regionals are STILL making money... Can you see through it that if the Mainline flew the routes they'll MAKE MORE money for the Company. Hence Higher pay for the Pilots? There won't be a you pay me I'll pay them thing going on.

Reminds me of the Family Guy episode when Cleveland takes Peter to the rally, and Peter jumps on stage yelling, "People like YOU are what's wrong with this country!"
