Negative, it is protecting pilots as a group. It would actually behoove a regional airline pilot group to have scope and other protection in their contract as well.
Example, Mesa flies RJs. Jonathan Ornstein, CEO, doesn't want to pay Mesa guys more money to fly bigger RJs. JO creates alter ego airline called Freedom to fly bigger RJs and circumvent Mesa's contract.
Would a scope clause have prevented this? Probably not because the routes weren't technically owned by Mesa. But scope and succesorship provisions would help a company like XJET, who is operating independently.
The way to raise regional pay is for guys to do it at the local level, at their own airline. Hence the union drive at SkyWest. You saw the balance sheet, perfect fodder for a contract and a big pay raise.

keiundra, your last comment just cost you a few more points.
But i am glad this post finally turned itself around, just remember that you do have a lot to learn, always. We're all trained to "fly" a certain way, we all have our own natural flying abilities or lack of them, and very few people (yourself included) are God's gift to aviation.

I've never said I was God's gift to Aviation, and I do understand that very few people are. Although I've met talked and heard from pilots who think this. I do also understand I have a lot to learn I'll be the first to acknowledge that. I tried to learn tonight, It turned sour I defended myself and others offended me. U must admit some comments were rather offensive. I'm also glad it turned itself around. I'm trying to get to where all you other guys/girls are and I'm not trying to burn bridges. My personalty won't allow me to be insulted and just take it. As I stated before I'm a man first, maybe we'll settle our differences but as a man I'm going to stand up for myself. That's how I was Raised! Regardless of who you are or what U are, I will not allow myself to be insulted and walked on??? Just me.

don't have to be a pilot to read the boards, so it's a joke i wouldn't make to much...especially considering that you already have the public opinion of the profession, so do what you can to improve that image.
Think the first page of APC actually had something on it about being a "passive" or "quite" professional, i'm not saying turn into butter when someone is insulting you, but pick your battles...
And i'd also never recommend bragging about your abilities to people who have had your abilities, improved upon them, and gained valuable experience over years of hard work. It'd be like a kid walking into a bar bragging about how tough he is, when 90% of the men in there have a scar on their face.
