I was in PHX one night when it was so crowded inside that they started pushing folks outside to the not-so-busy skycaps. You should have seen how fired up those guys got when they realized they weren't getting their customary $5 and $10 tips for 30 seconds of "work". What a crock - that has to be one of the cushiest jobs on the planet.

99% of the general public has not the slightest clue as to what goes on behind the cockpit door. If they think pilots are so overpaid, how about they try to do the job for one day (if they last that long) then come back and say the job is overpaid. But first, they should get some ground school on all the years of sacrifice, spent money, training and studying pilots go through. Not to mention all the political crap pilots have to put up with in the industry.
