Default Jumpseating to Hawaii

Quick questions to anyone who has any thoughts on the subject...

I am wanting to go to Hawaii next week and use my travel benefits to get there.

1. Is there any additional cost to jumpseat that far?
2. I am in CASS... Given the distance, How would the crew feel about me sitting in the cockpit if there were no seats in the back?

Any input on the topic would be great...

I'd like to know also. I live in Hawaii and will be commuting to Oakland.

I'm new to civilian flying. Can I sit in the back of an offline carrier? Or do I have to ride in the jumpseat.

Sorry for being a noob about this.

Fedex has 1 daily or 5 times a week HNL-OAK and 1 flt per day HNL-LAX.
Aloha has a nonstop from the islands to OAK. Not sure if it comes from Kona , Hilo or HNL. To be honest, I am not sure if we allow CASS guys from HNL. I know we don't (can't) internationally. ATA I think flies from the islands to OAK, again not sure from which island.

Commuting from HNL is proablaby doable, but you will use up many Off days per month and you will have to give yourself several backups on the front end (commuting to work). Flights are full and many won't let you ride in the Cockpit. so there has to be an open seat.

The key is to Get senior and hope SWA opens a HNL base..........Fat chance.

Good Luck and happy commuting

I'd have to check my archived PMs to remember who it was, but I know I exchanged messages with an off-line jumpseater who used FedEx to jumpseat to and from HNL. The biggest hazard would be having a Crew Rest airplane assigned to the leg (no Supernumerary jumpseats).
