singapore air.... i think they actually have a physical criteria that includes good looks and young age.... i could be wrong dont hold me to that...
i'm pretty sure size is in there too, and it SHOULD be, cuz i've had a lady scootin down the aisle before that dang near ripped my armrest off.

I've always noticed that most of the foreign carriers have a lot of nice hardbodies as FAs. When I was in Osaka for hours on end, I saw EVA, JAL, ANA, Singapore, Silk Air, JAA and CAL flight attendants walking by, not a single one being over weight or out of shape. Beautiful faces and personalities to complement the rest. :-)

While I have no objection the beautiful women aboard a Singapore Airline flight, it is pretty obvious that company policy is pretty discriminatory. In the United States you'd never see such blatant policy practices like "ugly people need not apply" like you would on many Asian carriers.
Given that they're behind the United States on gender equality, it makes sense that they have these incredibly beautiful women and not old, wrinkly flight attendants that you'd see on any American carrier.
I wonder how many female Asian pilots there are? Perhaps none.

The U.S. airlines have a lot to learn from the Asians. The best service I have ever seen is on Asian carriers.

It seems like the good old days are over of beautiful flight attendants in America (as a policy). I always think back to a TWA 747 circa 1975 when drawing a comparison to the policies of Asian carriers.
I guess I'm striving for equality sometimes...I guess I feel bad for all those ladies who won't fly because of looks or maybe a female Asian who has the bug for flying, but won't be able to live the dream because of cultural constraints. Sorry to politicize the issue!
But yeah, Singapore Airlines flight attendants are the best looking. As for KLM, Dutch women seem to be pretty stout. I guess if you like that, then its cool.

I'd say this is one area where it has failed our society then...I had an FA in her 70's on my trip a few years back, wtf? Give me a young, shapley, attractive FA anyday...especially if I'm paying for a ticket!
