SF is more culturally significant and has a more distinctive character, and San Diego is warmer, more laid back, and less congested. In many ways the cities are identical, but I think SFers are more prone to self-righteous bohemian snobbery.

All these posts answer my question
Thanks for all the responses. We all know now what happened and, if I opened a can of worms, I apologize. Too bad that sometimes people get lax in their demeanor, mostly in writing since one cannot watch the facial expressions or voice intonations! Let's close this discussion. You all have more interesting subject to discuss.
I loved SF and the Bay area 45 years ago. I don't really like what it has become, but one has to accept changes. San Diego will always be one of my favorites.
