Talk about lipstick on a pig.......
I flew C-130E models in the 1980's. I remember when we got a "Super E" from the Coast Guard, it was an "E" model with -15 engines that the "H" model had. First time I flew it the F/E had to grab my hand so I didn't over-torque the engines. That was impossible to do in Central America with the standard "E" models. We had more torque on 3 engines than the old plane had on all 4.

I remember they use to be five letter call signs that rotated everyday....we took of one day a "Queer 72." On departure the controller asked us to spell it; I replied "you know how it's spelled." Not my favorite call sign....
