Didn't see that one coming. Hope he does well there. Amtrak needs it.

Amtrak: 30 year old, single aisle equipment.

Should be a perfect match.

Could be a lure to get Qatar to buy 10% of Amtrak.

Very true. I told ya, Richard loves Bombardier.... Too bad Amtrak can't order the CSeries...

This is actually very good for Amtrak and our country (including the tax payers). RA doesn't have anything to prove - he did a great job at Delta and he made a ton of cash... Hopefully he can get things moving in the right direction - this will be the biggest challenge of his stellar career...

What a coup for Amtrak. As a regular rider (there's a station right at EWR, for crying out loud), I can't wait to see what changes he brings.

This thing ain't no airline. And he's a co-CEO, if I my reading comprehension is up to 9th grade.
Rules are different in the public/private rail industry than they are in airlines. Government has much more to say about how things (don't) get done in that industry.
That said, I wish him the best. I'd say if anyone can turn that POS into cash, Richard can. If he can't, then it was beyond salvage.
