Sometimes they have a beard at the same time!! The passengers always refuse to fly with them because they don’t trust their professionalism (sarcasm)

You're making **** up.
Your attempt to cast me as a villian who labels everyone who disagrees with me as an a-hole is false.
In fact, it proves my point about those who come out of the woodwork against beards on these type of threads. Some sort of personality failure where they think everyone should be forced to look like them and if someone doesn't agree they must be an a-hole.
If you can only fly with people who look like you, I think we might have found a problem.

When the curtain rises, we're in position, costume and role. Yes, we need to look & act the part as total strangers perform complex tasks without rehearsal for CRM expectations to flow smoothly. The JetBlue, dude looks like a lady, in frock under beard is a case in point. Ways to disrupt in appearance & behavior are only limited by the imagination.

Show me where I said anyone who disagrees with me is an a-hole. I know you can't find it.
Show me where I said someone was mentally ill. You won't find it.
Some of you keep proving the point that some of the anti-beard people want everyone else to look like them and can't deal with a difference of opinion without resorting to strawmen.

I’m curious how you think Beards can be equated to body modifications? They are not even in the same category. You would probably be surprised at some of your coworkers tattoo work though. We got guys at our airline that have tattoos that would make the yakuza proud, but they aren’t usually visible while in uniform.

Because this is the “changing the beard rule” discussion.
You are free to start a new thread on tattoos, piercings, backpacks, obesity, miatas are not sports cars, etc.

The easy answer is that a beard is a natural growth. Tattoos and piercings are body modifications. That said, as pax airlines continue to encourage pilots to hide behind the cockpit door, they may lose their status as customer facing employees. At that point, who cares what they tattooed on their face to go with their split tongue, steel eyebrows, and Viking beard.
