The sad thing is that the few unprofessional, winer pilots that are out there don't make it any better for the rest of us. I know several airline managers most of whom used to be line pilots that have turned nearly 180 degrees. All they do is complain about pilots and thus forget where they came from. But every dog has his day and one day soon there will be redemption. You can only throw so many low-time pilots into jobs until the FAA takes notice. The regionals are going to be hurting in the next few years. It's going to be interesting.

One thing however I think is disgusting is to see the term "scab" thrown around as loosely as it is in this business. A scab is a strikebreaker. Not the right term here. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Strikebreaker
From what I understand there arent that many low timers at gojets...The airline that they are taking flying from TSA, is hiring now at the minimums of 400-100. If any calls shennanigans I can post the link to that very spot...I would call them opportunists more than anything else...saw something enticing and jumped at, undercutting or not. We can call them whatever we want but regardless we share the sky with them...They are fellow pilots, however that doesnt really mean much..

Yes we are all brothers and sisters. It would be ideal if we all stuck together for a better industry. But that's not reality. Reality is that most pilots will do whatever is best for themselves. That's just human nature. Unfortunately we are in an industry and national economy where the wealthy and upper management types have used excuses like 9/11 and bankruptcy along with greed and a lack of morals to make themselves wealthier and better off at other's expense. So we at the bottom are fighting each other over the scraps. The only way out is through true unity and I'm not necessarily talking about unions. I'm talking about everyone refusing to fly under these wages and conditions. If everyone stopped then we could change the industry, but if only a few do it then they get eaten. How many of you out there can look in the mirror and truly say you would refuse to fly for the common good? Not many I'd bet. If you're not willing to leave your FedEx, UPS, American, Eagle, or NetJets job for the common good then how can you blame another for doing what's best for him/her? (Of course strikebreaking/linecrossing not included.) Personally I don't care about GoJets but if we're all out here fighting for scraps and not willing to sacrifice ourselves, then how can we place judgment on other pilots. They didn't create this mess. They are just trying to survive. The person who created it is to blame. I've been in this business for over 20 years and I've just seen too much hate and it doesn't change even with the new generations. Hate is what managements want. It fuels their agenda and takes the heat off of them. None of us were born with 3 thousand hours in their logbook and we need to remember where we came from and remember our first hour in an airplane when things were wonderful and new. We all are in this business because we like to fly. If it's money you've been drinking too much of the koolaid. If we keep our wonder and love for flying then we have something they can't take away, and if we direct our actions and concerns at those that are truly causing the problems then things might get better.

Just something to think about from a semi-old timer.
