No, don't think I said anything like that, did I?

ALPA will not forget about you. ALPA never forgot about the strong Continental and Texas International pilots who struck for 3 years. Those guys might of retained their seniority when they came back in '86, but they've had to bump shoulders with scabs for years now.. Just like y'all are doing now when you fly with pre-07 hire G7 guys.

Good luck to all of you at ComAir. I always had the utmost respect for you guys.

Also ask yourself how many people have made it out of the regionals faster than planned? How about on their original schedule? How many are ready to throw their arms up in disgust at their regional job they have been there so long. Regional pay is better than the average job in the U.S. and the difference from one to another isn't that far off. However the work rules and soft pay can be vastly different.
I almost gave up this career at my first regional because the work rules were so crappy. Many of my friends did just that and chose to search for greener pastures outside of aviation. It never ceases to amaze me how a crappy contract can take that kid that set by the runway watching the planes in amazement and flush their love down the drain.
For those of you working your way up the ranks I will offer my small shread of advice. ALWAYS choose QOL over a small pay difference. Airlines like this tend to make the decision even easier for me because they have the lower pay and the lower QOL. Plan for the worst...hope for the best. You could be at said regional for quite a long time.

Don't forget boys and girls that those old timer disconnected Captains that have been sitting on the hiring boards are quickly hanging it up. You are increasingly going to see someone that does know the history of the regionals and it's drama asking you about that resume as the hiring ramps up over the next 8-10 years.

I would never make a choice that could hamper that chance. Some people like to gamble though. Good luck to all.

(For any Comair ppl out there I would think you kinda have a pass on some things like this in light of your current situation..My opinon anyhow)
Not taking away from the current plight for Comair pilots, but there are furloughees and refugees from other airlines that are looking for work. Why would they not "kinda have a pass"? Because they're not involved in the plight of the month? People quickly forget.

Another thing, it's interesting you brought up Comair. There are plenty of pilots at the majors from the regionals. Do you remember that Comair, Continental Express etc in the 90's and the buy a job schemes? Such a practice is much worse to the profession than GoJet and nobody that bought their job had issues with their career. What makes you think that it would be different with GoJet? People quickly forget.

What's popular on these aviation message boards is not necessarily popular in real life.

lol, why not pre-07? If you are referencing the "original group", then that was before 2006.

So, a question for all the Transssstates or ex-TransSstates workers. When any of you took jobs at TSA you too were supporting one of the worst regional contracts in the industry. In fact, TSA has had a history since its very existence to have an industry-bottom leading contract compared to all the other regionals. Why is GoJet any different? Did you really believe that HK would bow to your demands after proving for eons that he wouldn't? You took that job at TSA -YOU- were supporting the whipsaw, YOU were supporting the downward spiral of the industry. Sure, you fought to make it a better place by demanding a better contract... but by going there in the first place you did exactly what you are blaming GJ pilots for.

Hypocrisy at its best.

Mod Note:

As I said long ago, time for this thread to close. Looks like y'all have exhausted your maturity and your ability to discuss anything in an adult manner. A thread has come to the end of its "fresh date" when the same old lame arguments and comments are made over and over again to the same old lame questions.

Good news - this thread lived for 3 days!
