Gojet preparing for CRJ 900's

Trans States Holdings bought 50 MRJ's and options for 50 more. HK has many options with what to do with those planes. He can give them to TSA or GJ or even Compass, he can also sell them to someone else or sell his options and just take the profit or he can even start a new airline. Who knows what will happen but I am sure it will be something that makes the man some money which is a good thing.

Everybody has been concentrating on pilot attrition and a lot of people have missed the fact that 9E is losing the competent people in flight operations to FEDEX. FEDEX hired a couple of managers last fall in scheduling, and since that happened all of the good ones have been bailing for FEDEX and some to mainline. Heard flight ops has been a cluster lately. I know of 6 very good people that have left scheduling and sector supervisor positions since March, and these were key people that fixed the screw ups and generally kept the place going. From what I hear everybody there thinks HQ is going to MSP, so expect more to bail over the summer.
I was one of the former management types hired last fall. Since I've been over here, I have seen former chief pilots, maintenance control/line, flight training, PBS, and tons of line pilots from 9E. Flight operations/SOC is being decimated right now. Collectively, I can't think of more than 10 people working there now that have been there three years or more. A bunch have gone to United recently. The sad thing is that there are plenty of talented people left that will probably leave the industry after this because they don't have enough experience to advance in their careers.
Anyway, I think you're spot on. 9E is hosed. I'm betting end of the year max when the announcement goes out. If they are lucky, an abbreviated draw down period. This strikes me as more of a come in and the doors are locked situation though.
If they are by chance spared, they'll be the red-headed step-child of mama delta for years to come.
In other news, I've heard outstation maintenance is 'booting' planes until the bills are paid.

I would doubt that as that is illegal. The only legal avenue a mx shop has is to place a lien and then start foreclosure proceedings on the lien. They can get arrested for doing something like that.

Well, in that case you're probably right. It is a funny thought, though (as long as you're not the overnight crew that comes out to find it the next morning).

So you think a company cant refuse to provide a service to anyone as they see fit? Yea, that sounds about right...

I have seen a few corporate aircraft get burried in the hangar or left in the corner of the tarmac and cornered in by other parked airplanes by FBO's that are waiting to get paid. Those airplanes aren't getting moved unless the bill is paid. If the mechanics are owed that much then you will very quickly see the gloves come off.
