Sounds like BlueMoon gets it. It cracks me up to hear regional guys crack on other regional guys for "taking flying" when their company "took flying" from someone too. Every regional took flying from someone. Be it mainline or another regional. I guess if enough time has passed since the flying was taken it is ok. If it's recent then you are a scumbag scab. Contractors (regionals) bid for contracts and customers (mainline) choose who they want to do the work. Just like a carpenter. No different. Do carpenters that lose bids to other carpenters get mad and say they had their jobs taken? No. Don't work for a contractor if you don't like it.

This is an amazing industry...and new pilots keep coming in without knowing the history of the industry. That's a failure of the "unions".

Nope, it's airline management that is the vultures. "Us" is only the pilots that fly the planes, trying to get the time and get out as soon as we can. It's airline management that does such an effective job at pitting "us" against one another.
That's only part of the story. Because it's also funny to hear mainline cry fowl about "taking flying". Nope, the scope/pandora's box was opened up even before 9/11 on that one. The ship has sailed.
Now it's simply a matter of how Mainline Corp decides to have Mainline Corp's flying done, within the confies of the current scope agreements.

Of all the regionals that fly both the 700 and the 900, I believe there are more that do it for a combined rate rather than separate rates. The same goes with mainline. Typically when you have a similar fleet type, ie. 737-300,500,700,800, 757/767, CRJ-700/900, they have one blended pay scale.

My bad, thank you guys for clarifying. I'm glad GoJets got the exComair, aka exAsa 700s. Thank you for reminding me that they never were ours, it does bring a smile to my face knowing that Asa is so lucky to pass on airframes to G7 and allowing them to expand. Hitting the "reset" button for everyone in the industry and claiming airframes in this dance of musical chairs makes me so happy. Let the whipsaw rip!

Don't worry. There are plenty of former Comair guys at Gojet now.

Looks like gojet is the place to be. Do your time, get your quick PIC and get out. Isnt that what the regionals were intended for in the first place
