Big picture?
I'm looking at the big picture. I went to GoJet.....did my time....then left. What picture are you looking at?

It worked for you and is currently working for many others.
Many former comair came to g7 less than a year ago and are holding lines as captains already.
I've heard some in RDU are getting more than 17 days off.

They were hired as cqfo's and were upgraded to captains in about 6 months time. GoJet has not hired street captains for about 4 years or longer. 11 recent hires were awared cqfo training for August which means they will be trained and qualified as a Captain and will most likely be made a Captain very soon to keep up with the growth and the loss of the United furloughs returning to the Continental side. New hires with the ugprade time are upgrading around 6 months. Lots of Comair folks are filling the classes as well as lots of high time folks due to the quick upgrade/cqfo benefits. Seeing more and more Pinnacle guys coming over also.

At this point in my life, I am firmly convinced that no regional is better or worse than the others purely due to history, "morals," the name of the union, etc.--I've come to learn there are a few certainties in this career (and in every career, for the most part, albeit on a longer time scale in other industries):
1) If things get good somewhere, it is only a matter of time before they get bad again.
2) If things are bad where you are, they will probably only get worse until your company is bankrupt and/or you are furloughed/fired/laid off.
3) Look at the best and worst case scenarios at a given company re: pay, upgrade, seniority, bases, equipment, etc.--there is a greater-than-50% chance that the worst case scenario will manifest in reality than the best case scenario
4) Getting a job at a major airline in the next decade is not a certainy. Death and taxes are a certainty, however. Plan for the latter, don't plan for the former...you won't regret it.
Either way, STL is home...ORD is close-enough to home...I just want to be home.
