Why you shouldn't hate GoJet pilots

What's the solution and who/what needs to get involved? Flying gets farmed out, mainliners get furloughed, furloughed fly for the regional (jets for jobs),people coming out of college/flight school/CFI situation have SJS,unemployed pilots face running out of unemployment/currency issues. What are the mainline pilots whose company farmed out their flying to G7 doing about this? Have the TSA pilots who were wronged moved on to bigger and better companies? IBTL,quips,GIF's, et.al are entertaining but otherwise.... Good luck and good health to all.

Many went to GoJets because the upgrade is quick (higher paycheck) as many GoJet FOs don't have the time to upgrade. Before GoJets, SkyWest was the popular choice.
The really screwed up thing is that UALALPA encourages their furloughed pilots to go to G7. In other words, UALALAPA says "hey, we're sorry we outsourced your job to the crappy regionals, but we'll get you a job at the place we outsourced you to. For LESS than you were making here". Meanwhile, other airlines that were furloughing basically told their soon to be furloughed pilots something along the lines of "we understand that it's an oppurtunity to earn a paycheck, but we suggest do you DON'T go to work there".
As a side note, there's plenty of other guys from ATA, etc that have gone there as well. Again, becaus the upgrade can be quick.

I'm a realist, man.
GoJet isn't a top notch regional. There are better places to be provided a pilot was hired with fortunate timing. Being a 7 year regional FO sucks, I don't care what kind of work rules you have.
The training needs work. The failure rate is deplorable, and directly indicative of the training quality. Example - things like wingspans and the height of the tail are covered in class, and then you get asked in the oral what the flux capacitors do. A lot of times, oral questions are asked without ever having touched on the issue in class whatsoever. I've never experienced a training department that does that.
Save the aforementioned issue, the Airline isn't horrible to work for. It isn't the best by any means either.

your argument is flawed from the start. I was hired at a regional 15 years ago, and if I understand your argument I was doing there flying back then also in my turbo prop. CAL only has them selves to blame they were offered the EMB and said no and I have been there ever since due to there short sightedness.
Keep dreaming that they will get it back. LMAO

Those of us who have passed through the training program offered by any of Uncle Hulie's companies knew you were being facetious... but I ain't gonna let an opportunity to make fun of you just pass me by

Bachelor's degree in whatever - $40,000-$100,000
Knowing the difference between a grammatical error and a simple misspelling - Priceless.
Irony at it's finest

Because charter and corporate gigs have such a better QOL and pay? The whole notion of flying for money has become a joke throughout the entire industry. It is unfortunate. Yes, there is military, which isn't something you can just choose to do. A vast majority won't make it through the medical qualifications, let alone the competitive grades/test scores/recommendations needed as compared to just paying UND $100,000.
As for a strong contract, I should have added the word "relatively". Still, TRIP RIG, DUTY RIG, MX CANCELATION PAY, WX CANCELATION PAY, 1.5 PAY FOR ALL OPEN TIME, DAY OFF FOR JUNIOR MAN, 100% DH PAY... I could go on. MOST regionals did not compare when I was hired.
