GoJet Interview and Training

BTW... If your so-called-contract expires in spring 2012, do you really think TS Holdings will give you a nice pay raise and better work rules just like that?
TSA and Gojet might not be the same company, but it sure is run by the same people, so unless you accept another sub-par contract, they will drag your negotiations on for years. Just look at how long it took TSA.

Since you guys brag about being a union shop, shouldn't the stellar contract you guys have tell you if you will get a pay raise?

as i said before, it's a rumor. i agree with you though; a pay raise and improved work-rules in exchange for nothing isn't a realistic expectation.

The thing I forgot to mention before, and probably the most important thing, management has shown if the pilots won't cow down, they will find someone else who will. Don't be surprised if they do it again.
Jane dates a married man, Joe, and he eventually leaves his wife to marry Jane. A few years down the road, Joe tells Jane he has been dating another woman and wants a divorce. How surprised should Jane be.... and just how sorry would you feel for her?

Yeah, but you were flying a 747. How many here will NEVER even have the opportunity to fly a 747? even though they have dreamed all their lives of flying one all over the world like you did.

That's why I've always said that ALPA and Teamsters, and the other major unions need to get together and come up with a comprehensive education plan for people looking to be airline pilots. A real honest lesson on what this industry is REALLY like. I true and honest look at what youre in for and I would presume alot wouldnt go through with the training. I'm not sayin we should discourage future airline pilots but we should at least educate them what theyre truely in for. This could potentially effect the supply of airline pilots in our favor. Maybe help out our cause.

Again, I just looked. Actually, the starting pay first year at GoJet is $1.00 to $2.00 per hour higher that the others (according to APC). Also, beyond first year pay was not of significant difference. I was actually being gracious in my previous post. Also, I have friends going other places than SWA because of our demographics, 45 to 50 yrs old, would be FO's the rest of their career. Growth within a potential employer and lifestyle are often more important than money. Everyone's career prioities are not the same. Frats and good luck to you.

I wouldn't fly my ass off like that for 43K in a 152, much less a 747. Either the most severe case of sjs or size of plane indirectly proportional to size of manhood syndrome....

Regional pilot is an entry level job. What is an entry level job worth? Do you expect comparable pay at a regional to a pilot at a major? It's like a short order cook expecting to be paid like a chef at a five star restaurant.
