Gojet dilemma

The basis for the entire arguement is, do the ends justify the means? If your personal answer is yes and you feel like Gojet will allow you to move on I guess your answer is go for it. If the ends don't justify the means then you can't go. Every man answers that for himself. But that doesn't mean I have to respect you for the opposite answer as me. Then again, you might not care whether other pilots respect you.

I would go for it, the bashers are just a vocal few. I wish I had gone years ago. I would have earned ~ $175K more than what I had in the last 5 years. Do you understand how much that is? When the majors start hiring, you will be one of the first in line compared to if you had to stay somewhere for 5 years as a FO.
As for jumpseat commuting, don't even worry about, never had a captain not welcome a GJ pilot on board. Even if you were to buy 4 round trips a month, or one of those all you can fly annual passes, you would still come out way ahead of what a FO makes.
Good luck

So according to the haters, I am to do the "right thing", sit right seat for 30k a year for then next 5 years and never get out, or do the "wrong thing", go to GoJEt, get my hours and at least 60k a year and have a better chance of moving on. Hmmm. Which one? Once in a while in order to succeed, you need to bet on the underdog. Also, If I was ever denied a JS or confronted about working there, it would not be pretty.

Jumpseating denial - Go ahead and be that guy. I am glad that you are OK with denying somebody a ride home just because of garbage from the past. How about if you were denied a ride home? What are you going to tell your wife, son/daughter the reason you can't make it home? I don't agree with all that TSA/GoJet crap from the past either but do I care enough to deny somebody a ride home. Heck No!

Management takes money from me everyday ..... look at our pay scale sport. Ask some our veteran Captains about the ESOP program they totally got screwed over. What is the real problem in this industry? Management! True and guys who bend over and grab their ankle FOR management.
Scope issues - who are the ones negotiating here.

Well I guess I'd be renting a car and have several hours to think about what it means to stab other pilots in the back What are you going to tell your wife, son/daughter the reason you can't make it home?I would tell them that my choice of airline didn't agree with the Captain. I don't agree with all that TSA/GoJet crap from the past either but do I care enough to deny somebody a ride home. Heck No! He cared enough to take someone elses job for less money, the least I can do is care enough to deny him

Just when should I forgive the guy who banged my wife? <<< THIS
So according to you, if there is a big long line, I shouldn't have to wait, I should just jump to the front of the line. <<< AND THIS
Do whatever you want to. Sell crack if you want to. But you need to live with the consequences. <<< THIS TOO
And I am curious, just what would you do if you were denied a jump seat? I'd LOVE to see that.

I don't work for TSA. Gojet isn't better equipment for either me or the original poster. It isn't better pay for me, I'm not sure about the original poster. Part of unity is everyone saying "this is unacceptable behavior" and then everyone following that.

I personally don't care if you respect me or not. Anyone who publicly states personal resentment for new hire employees based on actions of others 6 years ago - doesn't really hold any water with me.
If in the case you do/did work for MESA. Should I judge you for working for a convicted felon? In my opinion - no. The same holds true for future GoJet employees. Why continue to judge them on actions of others in the past.
That being said we are all entitled to our opinion and we have both stated our cases. Doesn't mean we have to be drinking buddies. We can agree to disagree. Keep beating that drum man. All it's doing is making your arm tired.

If your siding with gojet your idiots, its not the pay/workrules etc, its WHY it was created, and what it stands for! No matter what you gain from working there, you are working at the place that is the next level of the race to the bottom, and I am glad people get why not to work there

when i was in initial training at CHQ my sim partner got fired because he could not pass the training. a year later he was a GoJet Captain, now with 3000TPIC to my 0. Who won there? He can apply to Southwest and I am doing the right thing.
