1 problem in that argument... If nobody is hiring Gojets guys at majors their isn't much room for any growth. Currently DL, FDX, SWA, etc are picking guys up and will continue to do so. GJ guys are going to have a very hard time getting hired due to their reputation- especially by any ALPA carrier. Those guys lined up to send others packing and to undercut work. That's right up there with a definition of a "scab" but is obviously a bit different from the actual definition since their was no picket line. GJ guys just stole the signs and did the same damage.
So please don't tell me that I won't get to work for an ALPA carrier because after the way ALPA and Delta treated OH I really don't care. Do I agree the way TSA avoided scope by forming GJ? Well no I can't say I do but I also didn't like the way Mesa created Freedom. I don't like the way TWA pilots were treated by American. I don't like the way the US Airways list integration is going. I could go on and on but I assume you get my point.
Read the first couple pages of this:
http://www.twapilot.org/TWA%20vs.%20...tionsBrief.pdf You will get the idea about ALPA's intentions.
Read the history of Freedom:
Freedom Airlines - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia same thing here Mesa did as TSA did, are the majors banning the hiring of Ex Freedom pilots?
Strikebreaker - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Going to work at GJ will not label you a scab except as one poster said only on here.

I'll give you my experience at GoJet.
The "Chief pilot" is anything but a chief pilot. He is very, very bi-polar and he does NOTHING to stand up for the pilots ON ANYTHING!! Unless, you are one of his drinking buddies he will fire you for anything. He tries to intimidate every pilot (little, fat man syndrom)
Example: a couple of years ago we had over 40 L.O.I.'s (letter of investigation) from the FAA due to a very vague MEL. 40 pilots flew this a/c (which should show you how quickly stuff gets fixed) then the FAA decides to cite them all for flying an a/c without a proper MEL. Several of the pilots went to the amazing Chief pilot about this situation and his words were.....and I quote: "Whoa, whoa, whoa. THAT is between YOU & the FAA. The company is not involved"
The short ending is that the Fed who cited the pilots was a former Trans Mistaker who had a grudge and the NTSB Judge in Kansas City cited with the pilots and made the Fed look like a fool.
My point is...it's a typical Hulas ran organization. Horrible management, maintenance (if you can actually call it maintenance) & schedules. If I got furloughed today I would do anything but go to work for TSA or GoJet.
As far as the previous poster saying you will be labeled a scab....puhleeeeeeeeeeeeze.
I flew with a lot of great people there. I have NO RESPECT for the Trans States pilots that initially came over to help get G7 going but many people I flew with were from United, ATA, Aloha, Midwest, Eagle among others.
Take it for what it's worth. Your mileage may vary. Good luck in your decision.

"I can certainly understand why they would, especially towards those pilots that shot their colleagues in the back in 2005. Is it really fair to hold so much against them 6 years on?"

Sorry, I didn't make myself very clear. I can totally understand being ****ed at the original guys who screwed their colleagues over, but what about the guys who joined in the last three or so years?

TSA/G7 are terrible places to work. Even if their base is where you live. Believe me. You don't want to work for this company.

Possibly, but only by other regionals in the majority of cases... and the few mainliners that would call him a scab, are the same ones that would call all of you that name... regardless of which subcontractor you work for, you ARE doing flying that was mainline flying, so there will always be those among us who would call you the S word.
there are plenty of Gojeters at Delta & jetBlue... a kid I know was just hired in the last JB class... although with their staffing and projected expansion, there will be a lot of lifer FO's there. Anyway, he did his suffering at Gojets, got his turbine PIC time and moved right out. It is what you make it.
If you are living in Chicago, take the in base job first simply for the QOL of not having to commute... check upgrade times carefully since in most cases - not all - PIC time is the ticket out the door.
