Most companies nowadays use third parties to screen applicants. What are the chances of a TSA pilot(who experienced what some of them make out to be THE Holocaust of the airline industry) making a hiring decision at a major airline?
What are the chances of them becoming an HR generalist at Delta,United, US Air,Jetblue,SWA,Fed Ex,UPS, or anywhere?
For example EAGLE was entirely pilots doing the hiring. This is AMR and modeled after AA.
I know your excited to go fly for an airline, but wait till you come see the meat and potatoes of this industry, and you will see that you should have just listened to what people were saying.

You know nothing about my "time in this industry". Thanks for the valuable response!
Then that girl would probably not give you any play no way. Most girls don't ask for resumes anyway.

Sure there might be the chance that one of them sits in on an interview, they may even get to make a few comments to the other HR people/chief pilot present but i guarantee that will go down as a 'Dwight Schrute' moment in history. "Listen to me Michael!"

Again it shows your lack of exposure. A vast majority of airlines have hiring done by pilots. All majors historically have had pilots on the hiring board, many times being the vast majority. Most historically also have a captains/pilots review process for those HR wants to hire, in which they must pass.
For example EAGLE was entirely pilots doing the hiring. This is AMR and modeled after AA.

And again the chances of a disgruntled TSA pilot who makes it to the "Majors", who is selected to serve on a "hiring board", who is still angry that he didn't get a holocaust ring is probably very slim, also very slim is the chance that one of his 'buddies' (because pilots don't have friends they have buddies-(i learned that from an indecent amount of exposure)) who will carry the TSA "gojet lowered the industry bar for all of us" slogan/speech while serving on a "hiring board". But hey YANEVERKNOW!

I work at Eagle and think the GOJETS guy are scum. If they were not scum they would merge the list with TSA. Oh wait then they would not be getting to cut all the corners on earth.
If I were on a hiring board, I would never hire a GOJET guy. Everyone of them I meet are also weird as hell.
I am not alone in this mentality.

You got me! Got me good. But again sir, you know nothing about my "exposure".

I never met one myself but when i got to ORD which isn't often, sometimes i like to sit at the mcdonalds fork in the terminal and see if i can spot one......but it usually ends up being just a MESA employee...
Again, i think changes will be coming to eagle and AA with regards to hiring practices, among other things.

On that previous note, it's shocking how small this industry is. I just try and keep my mouth shut and try not to step on anyone.
I have no personal side in this fight, but if people need this much positive reinforcement to go fly at G7, then they really need to go fly somewhere else. Problem solved. Informed decisions about employment are not made from internet message boards.

It appears this a trend among most GoJet pilots that probably stems from the GoJet hiring process.
From what I've heard, a GoJet interview consists mainly of whether they like you or not, nothing else. You wont see much of a cognitive, sim or technical evaluation...
A GoJet interview compared to a Skywest interview is similar to a private pilot stage check compared to a CFI checkride.

I'm not one to make stereo types but I will say, the one GoJet pilot(former) I know is a very strange duck. A nice guy, down to earth dude and easy to get along but man, what a weirdo.
