Is the creation of GoJets not the same move that TSA pilots are currently pulling on American Eagle pilots? Just a thought. I mean TSA undercut Eagle to get their flying and now Go Jets is undercutting TSA to get "their" flying. Sounds like a dose of their own medicine.

First off the contract is not complete, the pay you are referring to was the company's initial offer.
Secondly, WHO CARES
I mean you said yourself the they'll be making more, it doesn't matter that they are flying a bigger plane. Did you invent the idea that if you fly a bigger plane you must make more money?
You better get the leaders at UPS on the phone, because it doesn't matter if you fly their smallest or largest plane, you'll still get paid the same...it's all based on longevity.
And as far as jumpseats go, did you ever stop to think that they won't need them because they are probably smart enough to live where they work!
And who cares about freedom, i don't and i am furloughed from a major and talk to my friends that are still there and they don't care. Face it, the majors don't give a rats ass about your paultry little existance. They'll give the jumpseat up to whomever they have a recip with.
And furthermore, I believe that GoJet was created to get around AA scope, TSA union is just mad because they refused to talk w/ mgt, trying to get an upper leg, and it backfired on them!
Life goes on, and anyone who wants to work at GoJet go right ahead, I wouldn't worry about what all these losers say on these forums, they have WAY TOO MUCH TIME ON THEIR HANDS to scour these boards and read and reply and read and reply and read and reply. You can see this is my first post and probably my last because I have a life.
Bye!

As for GoJet- I will concede that Leach is taking some advantage... yup

What is happening at GoJet is no different than anywhere else that feeds for American. Chautauqua created Republic... agreed

Your real concern in applying to GoJet should be what would happen should United be belly up next month. No, your primary concern should be how will this affect my career, and why would I work for a company that (as you have stated) is already taking advantage of its employees.

This is real-life gambling.

First of all, go to dictionary.com real quick and type in "scab." The first definition that applies here is "A person regarded as contemptible."
The reason you shouldn't go fly for Go Jet is not b/c it's "ILLEGAL." but rather b/c it's contemptible. You are stepping on the heads of your fellow pilots to climb another rung. I have the list of Go Jet pilots and they will *never* sit in my jumpseat.
Flying for Go Jet right now is a decision that will follow you for the rest of your career; it will be embarrassing for you for the rest of your life, but a better reason to refuse the flying is because it's the wrong thing to do. It's wrong for your career, it's bad for the industry, and it's just plain mean.
Also, take it from someone who works at TSA, you *need* union protection at this company. Go Jet is already flying 6 days out of domicile, and this is the honeymoon period.
Do yourselves a favor and wait a couple months for this to sort itself out. The job will be there for you to take with a sense of honor and pride.

Republic is not GoJet-esque
Republic Airlines is in no way comparable to the mistake known as GoJets. Republic pilots are unionized, and share the same CBA as their co-workers at Chautauqua. Republic employees do not undercut the pilots at CHQ or Shuttle America. We aork together, not agaist each other. We are all on one master seniority list, with the ability to bid between companies as seniority permits. Republic was started to allow Chautauqua/Republic Airways Holdings to offer a 70 seat product to Delta, US Airways, and United. American did not want 70 seaters flown for them, and they were looking for a quick buck, so they enforced our codeshare agreement that included a fine if CHQ flew aircraft greater than 50 seats. Republic was not an attempt to get 70 seaters on property for American, and was not an attempt to undercut the rest of the pilot work group. It is a legitimate solution to legitimate scope clauses, and in its current form offends no code share partners or pilots within our union.
STOP TRYING TO INCRIMINATE REPUBLIC! We are trying to run an honest opeartion and to bring up the standard of regional carriers while not detracting from mainline carriers.

Look, I would never sanction this GoJets place, but let’s look at ourselves in the mirror before we start calling others names.
