No one is using gojets as a scapegoat, that would imply an absence of guilt; and gojet pilots are guilty of both working for an Alter Ego and stabbing the TSA pilots. It's that simple, no need to write a paper about it.
Again, look at the odds, so far in this thread 15 people have participated, and only two are defending this unethical outfit...what does that tell you about the general concensus?

You say you're a former waterskier. Judging by this paragraph I'm thinking that you basically have no idea how or why GJ was formed. Especially the last sentence which is ridiculous because first, there will never be a shortage of pilots, and second of all it is impossible to merge TSA and GJ because AA scope doesn't allow it. Again I keep saying it, GJ has HIGHER wages and a better contract than TSA so I'll let you ponder that one, after all we're screwing everyone.
Believe me a year ago I was against GJ, mostly because I was reading around forums like these and read the pilots being equated to "scumbags" and that going there is a career ender. I'm pretty sure there are many out there right now that are getting the wrong impression. Then I actually got into the airlines, actually BECAME a pilot, played the union game, and found out for myself what GJ really is.

This particular pilot group will never be like the rest of us. They are joined by the ranks of the "Freedom A listers", the "83 hires", and the "87 hires".
No one here will attack you for the choice you made, but you have to be willing to live with it. If you come to me (or any other educated pilot) asking for a jumpseat, the answer will always be no (due to performance of course). If I'm on the hiring board at a major carrier, the answer will also always be no. If I see you at the airport, you might as well be a piece of luggage, as far as I'm concerned you're not a real pilot; to me you're nothing more than a contract worker brought in to prevent the TSA pilot group from negotiating a good contract, and tailored to do exactly what Freedom A did for Mesa.
Perhaps it's time to start living with the consequences of your desicion.

And how bout the fact that the 3 bashers are TSA or former TSA, what does that tell you? Are we back on the elementary school play yard?? Again you can make "kool aid" all you want, i'ts getting old. Separate airline, UNION, better pay and contract. Nobody stabbed the TSA pilots in the back it was their ****ty MEC who screwed them in the end. What else is new??
If the debate is getting old to you, perhaps you should cut your loses and call it a day.

airwillie, you say that you get paid more than tsa...you fly bigger equipment so i'd say that should be a given. but i just looked at your payscale on the updated july2008 pilot pay snapshot and your NEW contract is less than your peers' old contract. looks like you guys are bringing down the pay average. i bet your work rules are a joke too.
tsa pilots wanted to change the management's behavior of making us fly shiny, larger equipment for crap pay. and by the way, i was at tsa when gj was formed. i was downgraded cause of this crap. believe me, it wasnt just about the pay, there were many other issues. we wanted to raise the average pay but gj lowered the bar for all other crj700 carriers. nice going. btw, i think the aa scope may be gone soon so a merge will be likely in the future buddy.

#1) I think you're still missing my point. Regionals suck and you work for one (I think). Because GoJet is arguably a crappy regional with a crappy history, you pick on them, diverting attention from the real problem...that all regionals suck. End result: Your regional still sucks but you feel good because your friends at other regionals that suck give you smiles and high fives.
#2) I really don't care about a consensus of regional airline pilots. Why? Well, look at #1.
#3) You say that GJ pilots are screwing TSA pilots. So, if a TSA furloughee goes to GJ, I guess he's screwing himself. My question is, how is that any different than anybody else's typical overnight?

in conclusion...
it took 46 posts to figure this out but to answer the original post regarding future employment at go jet...dont go there unless you are willing to handle the drama, warranted or not. dont go there cause you risk getting shut down at a future carrier, deservedly or not.

I edited your statement to make it more neutral. I'd say that's pretty much the best advice the OP is going to get.
