GoJet question

And there are guys here with 30-40 years union one guy even has Pan-am on the resume and everything in between. You think you know better than them? The fact is that you won't win by blaming other pilots. Not only are managements going to get their ways but you won't be united. GOjet pilots created working conditions, became union. As far as pay, in all honesty are you actually suggesting that GJ should be blamed for the ways of the regional industry? And by the way your pay, not for long, beats just about every other regional out there, so why are focusing on GOJet?
The reason why I have zero respect for you is because instead of being humble as a new hire (even at that unethical outfit), you're coming here REPEATING what you've been told, you don't even have 1 hour on the line, so we know for a fact that everything you continue to say here is what others have told you. Go out and make your own opinion once you've been on the line for a while, once you know your aircraft, once you figure out how to land it, once you've lived things first hand, then come back and tell us why we're all wrong.....

I think that everyone here has stated that they don't mind paying their dues. It is not all about money. Its about work rules and bennies too.
I LOVE MY JOB. Really, I love my job (even at TSA). I love being away, I love being home, I love complaining about scheduling. However, do not for one second try to tell me that money is not important. This is not a hobby for me, its my career. A career that I love and respect and THAT is why I want wages to increase, not decrease.
You say its sad when people complain about money, and I agree....we shouldn't have to.

Money is nice, but it shouldn't be the main factor determining what airline you want to work for. Every regional airline pays sucks, so why does it matter? You should enjoy flying, since not everyone can do it. Ever see the regional pay on YouTube. There are hardly any company that pays over $20,000 there first year. Horizon makes $27K there first year, but they have a long upgrade. Gojet makes $20k and may have a fast upgrade time. You're not going to be making $50k your first year. As a FO I'm sure you could understand that. Loving your job should come first and everything else second.

You should love what you do, but not at the cost of your integrity. I understand if you're a CFI and tired of it, but that's no excuse. Flying a jet will eventually become a job as well I can guarantee that. It doesn't mean you won't enjoy it anymore, it simply means that it will be a job, and we should get paid for our sacrifices.
You think about that, before saying it's ok for average pay to suck in the industry.....

Why dont u try finding the difference between 19 dollars or 20 dollars an hour...vs. an airline that pays 25 an hour....times it by 75 hours.
big difference right??????? what about an airline that pays 50% or 75% deah head pay vs and airline that pays 100% deadhead pay.
Big difference right??? how about an airline that has trip/duty rigs vs an airline that doesnt??? I can keep going
Do not preach to us about how first year pay sucks everywhere and as long as u get hired and upgrade fast its ok. Because it isnt.
Its Kids like you that drive the salarys in this industry down to begin with
I dont know about the rest of you...but when i first started flying....aside from it being the most exhilerating thing I had ever done....the fact that airline pilots made great money was another reason to keep myself focused...and that all my hard work and dedication was gonna pay off. Now im here....my pay is crap....the only thing I have going for me is that I still love what I do.
So I think I speak for the majority of us when I tell all you guys making crappy career decisions because of "Upgrade" or "Paying Dues" or whatever you say to try and justify what you did.......SAVE IT!!!! We dont wanna hear it.

i dont comment on the gojet situation anymore, but if i did!! the words wouldnt be pretty! So i'll censor my current thoughts.
Go to gojet if you want and if your already there...go ahead and rationalize all you want, and yeah maybe some things have changed and "majors dont care" "we got Teamsters and a good(insert LMAO here) contract" !
You still "work" (insert sell out others to slave) for Hulas (insert demeaning name here) and 90 percent of your collegues(regional airline pilots) dont consider you our equal. If you have to lie about what company you work for to get on a jumpseat, sneak past the cockpit to get on the jumpseat, turn your ID around, segregate hotel vans, and put on United bag tags. You should know that you are a disgrace to yourself and to your profession!

With your attitude I would believe that you're bringing the industry down. All you guys do is complain and complain that regional sucks. No one is forcing you to fly. All you're doing is making younger pilot worry. When a pilot job opens like Gojet they don't want it because you guys trash them. I knowing you're giving them helpful tips, but don't ruin their dream.

If your dream is flying a jet that everybody else is making $2-3 more an hour on, with better work rules then by all means, chase it. I'd question your motivation if you are willing to take the first, rather than waiting for better prospects down the road.
