If 10 or so years ago, the majors and commuters said 'No way' to RJs, maybe many RJ drivers would be junior FOs on F100s or 737s at the majors....who knows??

But, back on topic - AE, gojets and others are here...let's give the Baron the best info for his decision.
Eagle was not created as an end-run around an existing pilot group's union. The mainline guys at American (and most of the other legacies) said they weren't interested in flying those "little planes" so American went to Eagle and said "will you guys fly these then?". I'm over simplifying but the point is that GoJet and Eagle were created and got their flying in completely different ways. Your equating GoJet to any other regional shows a fundamental misunderstanding of the situation.

Time permitting, please educate me on the RJ's lack of impact on wages and the regional situation.

What would you do if your pilot group struck and because you were on probation? Would you go to work or be fired. I'm sure all would say that they would get fired. I wouldn't blame a guy for going to work. If he was off probation, than another story.

My question could happen to a lot at Pinnacle.

Whats your point and what does it have to do with the discussion AT ALL?

What!? This went from talking about GoJets to the impact of RJs?

Since 75 posts went by and I have not got much out of it, allow me to ask:
Has the GJ contract a real repercussion on the airline industry? Has any of you been affected by the existence of GJ?

To my knowledge any economic system is dictated by the supply and demand. Now, how far do you think the airlines can really strech their contract?
I do not know many people willing to spend extensive time, bags of money and a lot of frustration in training to be an airline pilot. Since pilots constitute the supply, the airlines being the demand, the contracts are subject to natural limits. NO PILOTS= NO AIRLINE.

This really isn't about economics or supply and demand. The additional 70 seat flying was negotiated, but management wanted pilots to take concessions to get the airplanes. The TSA pilots stood up for themselves, demanding appropriate pay. Instead, a non-union airline was started, staffed by pilots who didn't care that TSA pilots were getting screwed. So yes, every TSA pilot who didn't get to fly the bigger jet (given to non-union pilots) for more pay was affected.

Here is my question:
(and no, I have no aspirations for GoJet)

Is there anything that can occur to make people at GoJet not looked down upon? Is the only answer a merged seniority list with TSA, and if this happens is it ok to work for them? What, if any, are the ways that GoJet can be "respectable"? Thanks in advance for the replies.

What I will never understand is if GoJet started with five airlplanes and the first thirty five pilots that went over were Trans States Pilots than why would it be a problem for guys off the street to work for GoJet.

If the Trans States guys that were there thought that it was a good deal than why should an unemployed pilot think think different.

So someone educate the ignorant on why Go Jet should be shunned.
the creation of the airline lead directly to friends of mine getting furloughed out of seniority and/or stripped of their 4th stripe so that hulas could save a few $s per hour on a new airplane.

there's my reason
