Bottom line: TSA, Eagle, GoJet, whatever regional you talk about, at some point or another has screwed another. Let's all get over it and move on. Isn't the goal to get your time and move on to better things anyway?
Apples and Oranges.

TSA wasn't created to get around the Eagle contract, GoJet was.

Eagle needed to rid itself of 10 airplanes due to the arrival of 25 CRJ-700's. AA decided to lease them to TSA instead of selling them to the competition. With TSA operating them as AA Connection AA would still be receiving revenue from those aircraft.

Actually no. The TWA contracts were one thing, and were not associated with the tranfer of 8 EMB-145s from Eagle to fly as American Connection. Two separate issues. The 8 aircraft left Eagle to comply with an AA pilot scope clause. But it ended up being an end-around their scope clause AND our scope clause at Eagle, as the 8 aircraft ended up under operation control of AMR Corp., and flying as Connection for AA. Does that seem right to you? Much like the GoJet was an end-around TSA?

Management tactics. Dirty no matter where you are.

No, but the "sale" of the 145s from Eagle to Connection was definitely to get around Eagle and AA contracts.

But at any rate. TSAers and others have opinions about GoJetters, Eagle guys and others have opinions about TSAers and CHQers, etc. Doubtfully that anyone will change their respective opinions anytime soon.

With that in mind, fly safe and have a nice day.

ok agreed, AA took 8 aircraft and switched it to a carrier that does the flying for less. Much like what all the airliners still do now. But what the argument here is that AE didn't make a whole new carrier to switch the flying to in order to save cost.

So because there was already a carrier to switch the flying to, that was OK, and those pilots that got hired to fly the extra aircraft, they are all great guys...but when they create a carrier to switch it to because they don't have one handy, that makes it the pilots of that carrier all the spawn of Satan? Sure, that makes sense. So the worse thing about GoJet is that is was not Mesa or someone else?

My understanding was that the sale of aircraft was to HONOR the contract. Once a certain number of CRJ-700's were on property, Eagle had to dispose of a certain number of EMB-145's. They could have sold the aircraft to anyone, but elected to lease them to TSA to keep the revenue "in house."

I'm done with this thread. I wish everyone a safe and happy flying career.

Take everything into account when making career decisions and if it seems to good to be true, it probably is.

Sure it makes perfect sense dude...you've got your "facts" all wrong, but whatever! TSA Pilots got the flying fairly.

It's not a fun position to be in, but unlike the simple "creation" of an alter-ego airline, this situation is one about mainline (who owns the flying) deciding who will fly the airplanes for them, and at what price they want you to fly the airplanes for. Because mainline OWNS the routes, and it's their name, they can choose who flies for them, and it's not uncommon to see the airlines serving a particular codeshare change up, it's not fun, and we can all lose advancement and upgrade to it, but it's not your OWNcompany violating YOURcontract for the purpose of screwing YOU when you decide to stand up for industry average rates.
