Default Jumpseat ettiquite

We had a pilot show up to a flight today to ride cockpit jumpseat in a pair of shorts and a short sleeve t-shirt. They identified themselves as gojet but we never got as far as checking ID's. They were very surprised when they were turned away.
This is a friendly reminder that shorts and a t-shirt are not appropriate jumpseat attire.

I'm a new pilot to the 121 world and even I know this rule. And it's a good thing too becasue I was able to hitch a ride on a domestic trip on an AA 787 that was oversold by 15 people. Fortunately none of the non-rev standbys were flightdeck jumpseat eligible. The pilots were great, and I was like a kid in candyland just taking in their whole process. They were very engaging with me during the non-sterile times and we talked about all sorts of things for the ~3 hour trip. The Captain told me I could take any pics or videos I wanted, and at the end after parking he even took a selfie on HIS camera of the 3 of us.
