Well considering the MD88 is nearly 20 years older than the Ejet family, you won't see one as old now would ya?
It's only maxed at DL and currently at UA unless they buy a NSNB. AA is not maxed out as their scope is based off of a ratio between mainline aircraft and regional aircraft.
Secondly we have nearly 70 170's in the fleet that could be placed at AA in 65 seat configs. That only leaves 30 175's out of the order of 100, that would likely replace other regional flying or that could be placed with a new partner.

You guys have 4 CR7's in the new United paint scheme parked outside Bombardier TUS, clearly for the 550 overhaul.

Is there any open time available? Aren't you glad there is a guarantee per month.
Enjoy the vacation everyone.
Have half the guys sit at home for the month and let the other half fly their tails off and earn overtime pay. Half the guys fly 20 hours and get paid for 70 and the other half fly 99 and get paid 99+.
Next month switch. Otherwise everyone will fly 50 hours and get paid for 70.
Is there any training needed for the 550? Has anyone been trained. Any word on when they will be flown?

Fly them? Nobody is going to fly them.
They are merely being used to keep the prices of the 175s down, now that there is only one maker of RJs.
United wanted to tell Embraer that they have other options. "Look Embraer, we took 29 700s out of the desert and that means we don't need 29 175s at that price you want.

United know's their passengers like the 175 for luggage space and seat pitch. They're just making the 700's into 50 seat aircraft to get around scope. GoJet and their pilots are just a pool to dip into. This can only go on for so long though.

Gojet has 9 planes sitting that have been taken out of service, with another 3 to be removed in the next few days.
