I can see that more than OO making a new crj domicile just to get the 550 biz.
If SkyWest wanted the 550 biz, it would have been a done deal. The 550 concept is a stupid idea and will fail miserably.

I tend to agree with this. The only reason I would think it might still be in limbo is if CC is standing ground on demands and United is moving towards what he wants while they slowly realize it’s not going to happen at gojet.

Who is CC? Supposedly the GJ panes are being painted and new seats and configuration changes now.

Skywest says it has been evaluating the idea. United wants more RJs and it if keeps 50 seats or less they are not scope limited. United does not like the 700s because of the bags issue but the 550s would not have that problem.

Isn't it just a question of whether United is willing to pay enough to have Skywest fly them instead of Gojet whose pilots make 40% less? What does Skywest care about "the 550 concept" other than what United will pay?

^ 100%
I always get a kick out of people saying OO always undercuts the entire market.

It is turning GJ into Air Wis.
Several GJ 700's in TUS for 550 mod now with new UA paint. 1 in YUL. GJ will say "bye bye" to DO when the 550's are certified. Any sooner and pilot recruitment circles the bowl again just like after the Ed B. video.

I think it was March maybe? Could have been earlier, I don't really remember exactly. I got an interview offer right away basically. I put off my interview for a while to see if it was a fit for me. I interviewed sometime in late April I believe. I got the offer letter a little less then two weeks later.
