Bill Franke apparently doesn't feel the same way

That statement isn't indicative of a Spirit-Frontier merger. He calls out Southwest, also a low-cost carrier. I think the likelihood of Southwest merging is extremely low. That leaves JetBlue, Spirit, Frontier, and Virgin America. I'm not sure he's really referencing Allegiant or Sun Country.
I'm not disputing his remarks, I'm just not sure he's either referring to a Spirit-Frontier merger or Frontier itself. Frontier is a private company, they can sell to who they like, but the big money will be in an IPO.
I really believe that is Frontier's future and what Mr. Franke is holding out for. An IPO followed by a merger leaves the purchased company's stock in an enviable position.

Frontier's 401k matching is 50% up to 5% compensation, not 10%. Additionally, the most junior captain is a May 2007 hire, not 2013. I suspect that it'll go to 2013 hires within 12-24 months though. It really depends on the couple hundred DEN FOs that could upgrade out of domicile, but have so far chosen not to.
