Oh, man...sorry to hear you didn't get the job you wanted. Did you read my posts (#716 & 720 specifically) in this thread about my experience at Frontier before going to the interview? Your experience is essentially what I reported back on 30 May. The only exception is now I guess they are telling you no via an e-mail 2 weeks later vs the day of the interview (which is what they did at mine).
To those of you that volunteered Monday, thanks again! I really enjoyed meeting you guys, and wish you all great success.

I interviewed monday... I have 3000+ tpic 121, a clean training record, a clean safety record and a clean background and I got the nod... the impression I got wasn't whether you were unhirable at a legacy, it was whether or not you researched the company, interacted well with everyone and genuinely wanted to be at frontier... the last thing I said before I left the panel was, "I want this job... I will excel at this job."... there may be some bumps in the road, but I think f9 has a bright future... I'm not going to pretend I know what everyone there has been through, but I'm pretty excited... sorry you didn't get the yay wrx... I was impressed with all 12 guys there on monday... best of luck!

Just want to get people's thoughts on this.
I'm currently work for the holdings company that used to own frontier.
I have been applying for about a year now and nothing. I just reapplied two weeks ago with the newer format and also had a college buddy write me a letter of rec. he is a recent hire. Do they really hold a grudge against us that they won't even tempt to try and interview. Does the Eischen award hold that much weight because IMO its worthless anyway.

Well said. Like I said, for whatever reason I wasn't a good fit. No doubt they have their reasons. All the best, I think you'll have a great future there!

In response to the "unhireable" by the legacies comment, I must say sir that you are way off base. Frontier has gotten really good at picking out those that want to be here long term. The hiring process is a sales game. I'm not saying that you come in to the interview and be disingenuous, but come on now fella...we'd all like to potentially fly a triple or a 78 at a legacy, however the day you interview at Frontier (or JetBlue or Spirit) is not the day to express the long term desire to do such.
My F9 newhire class had 20 people and of those, well over half had legacy competitive resumes. They were hired because they expressed strong desire to be part of the Frontier team. Demonstration of knowledge about the company and excitement for the opportunity was above and beyond the common thread for those hired. On top of that, most successful candidates realized that interview commencement was the moment you walked in the door of the GO.
It's not rocket science or Chinese arithmetic to get hired at F9. No sim, no psych eval, no weird SAT or Lumosity garbage, etc. They just want to hire nice people that aren't gonna bail in a year!

Good post CarolinaFlyer. Everybody in my Monday group was top notch, and would be an asset to any Legacy.
I'm very, very disappointed that I didn't make it past the 2nd stage... But I'm going to head up to the mountains for a couple days, clear my head, and figure out my next plan. Maybe I'll even get another shot with F9 again someday. Again, good luck guys and all the best.

What really seems to make the difference for getting an interview is internal recommendation. If you know anyone else at F9 (preferably not on probation), have them contact JP or SM. Good luck!

I did Macdac, and it was a fantastic write up. Yet I felt honesty was the best policy, as that's just how I am. I REALLY wanted to work at F9, but I admitted right away that I have apps out to the Legacies (don't we all as new hires?). Having lived here all my life, I figured my desire and intent to stick around would be considered genuine. But I was questioned about it MANY times, so I have a feeling they thought I was going to bolt. Oh well, something else will work out for me I'm sure.

We have hired people with no turbine PIC time (tough to get hired at a legacy without it), and they didn't have any inside connections. That said, they are great guys/girls and capable pilots, which is far more important to me than flight time. When I first found this out about one of them, my reaction was surprise, not any sense of disappointment.

With the Eischen imsl at this moment in arbitration, it would be foolish to accept Anyone involved -at this time. The Midwest 8 are a daily reminder.
Your opinion about the imsl is shared; however its just that until the arbirtator rules. Apply all you wish, but until the arbitrator rules, I wouldn't expect too much.
No offense, just simple truth.
