Frontier Hiring.

My buddy interviewed at the headquarters this week and was told by the LAS base chief pilot who gave a briefing on the direction of the company that there is no longer a training contract! He also told me that the interview was only 1 hour long and he was out the door 2 hours after arriving. He was not selected. My interview was a full day. Has the process changed ??

Wow. So the pool is drying up and we decide to spend LESS time vetting candidates? Isn’t now the time you would want to be more thorough? Interviewers could arguably learn just as much or more from the “down time” between events as they can from the SBI and panel.

As Frontier pilots we are lucky that the company allows pilots to be involved at all. If they continue having a hard time filling classes they may just make it all HR who hires and take anyone who meets the minimums and is willing to come.

The F9 motto is “if it’s legal and it makes us piles of money, we do it.” We spend at least a day after each trip trying to get enough sleep to recover from work. As Mugatu mentioned, this leads to a less than ideal QOL.

Not only do we (F9 pilots, not just ORD pilots) get the suck of redeye flying, we frequently do 2 leg redeyes with a 2 hour sit between legs followed by a 23 hour sit and an early east coast van time the next day.

And if you happen to have a trip that doesn’t have redeyes, you can count on a early show on day one and a late arrival on day four. Making your four day a un-commutable six day.
Stay away.

At least when I went through a few years ago it was not even a hour of “venting”, but over 7 hours of downtime in the lunch room. Very little one on one time during those 7 hours. I think the new format is a good move for everybody.

If your not safe, that’s the only option. Use it!

Change the subject a bit...
Quick question...sorry to change the subject. I know F9 doesn’t have agreements with Delta and United. What airlines do they have ZED fare agreements with? Interested in travel to Asia and South America. Is American on the list?
