Is Frontier still projecting about 75 new hires in 2018?

Anyone care to share the absolute insanity the company showed the last recurrent ground school class on projected seniority list growth?

I saw a picture of the slide and laughed out loud.

Most of us weren’t there. What was the projection? Is it out of line with our updated aircraft order?

I was not in class, but was shown a picture of a PowerPoint slide the company showed.

It listed anticipated seniority list size by year until 2026. It showed it growing steadily to reach, I kid you not, 4850 pilots in 2026.

Which seems to be about 2000 too many for our fleet plan. I calculated a need for about 3000 pilots in 2026 if we reach 216 airplanes, not 4800

That is comically aggressive. I couldn't help but laugh out loud myself. My wife even asked what was so funny and when I told her, she laughed as well. But, they got you guys to indirectly hint at astronomical growth, so now that's out there. Even if they signed a TA tomorrow they couldn't possibly achieve that growth. Even 3000 is pushing it. That's 330 a year, counting the full year of 2026, with zero attrition. We don't hire over the summer, and barely over the winter. Plus, we only hire half of the people who interview. So now your talking about for nine straight years, finding about 80 pilots a month who want to work for some of the lowest wages in the industry. I can't see this place getting past 2000 in that time frame, and they aren't going to sign a TA tomorrow. But hey I'm a "sky is falling kind of guy".

4850 is almost as big a joke as the company's past offers for the contract. But, if it gets someone through the door, I will welcome them with open arms. I will however ask if they knew that I, and over 350 pilots and even some of our own flight attendants braved temps in the 30s to protest against this managements contempt for its workers. Then I will dutifully refer them to the reserve rules, because they're going to be living under them for a quite some time.

Guys c’mon let’s please give Indigo some credit here and think about our massive growth plans.
4800 is how many pilots they plan on training and giving a 320 type rating to.
3000 is how many will actually stick around and still be on the list in 2026...maybe

Yeah if anything happens, I would guess it would be around the 3000 number.
As for next year I heard minimal classes the first half of the year. Then max capacity the second half for around 150 guys. So I’ve heard.

From another pilot who was in ground school last week. We gain a few AC first half of 18 then have returns equal deliveries in the second half. Guess his hiring forecast was opposite of what you heard. Either way, it will change next week anyway.
