I applied as well about the 12th of May. No response, one way or the other, but I included an availability date of September. 7000TT, 5000 ME turbine, 3500 TPIC, no jet.

I'm fairly new at Frontier, and after going through training, I can attest to the awesome culture at F9, everything has been a very positive experience thus far. That being said, we are the lowest paid bus drivers in the states and I hope that gets fixed now that we are under a new owner.

There are captains making upwards of 240k, but those are extremely few and far between. Think of the check airman with all the training events.

In the end, you have to look at the numbers and the reality with the current pay, 401k, frontier doesn't come close to any of the majors, by a long shot. I would love to say that I'm 100% sure that I will hang my hat here! but the reality is that if I can get on with either of the big three it will be a no brainer when it comes to earning potential. I think as the hiring pace picks up you will see more pilots leaving F9 for better paying jobs.

To those that got hired, welcome aboard. It is a really good atmosphere here at frontier.

Welcome aboard! I don't think Indigo has any intentions of raising our compensation. The CBA has some snap backs that will slightly improve pay over the next three years but I don't see anything changing significantly before the amendable date in 2017.

We get our longevity back in 2015 (doesn't effect new hires as you never lost a year).
Then we move up to a new pay table on 1/1/16, another new table on 1/1/17 and finally the highest rates found in the original CBA (pre-bk rates plus 4%) on 3/1/17.

So new hires will remain stagnant in the current payable until 1/1/16. Obviously you will move up with longevity but the pay table won't change.

One thing to keep in mind regarding the pay rates: Remember that contracts are short term agreements and they are always changing. Yes, at the moment, Frontiers pay rates are not exactly stellar. When you compare them to the current pay rates at UAL/DAL/AA, they are behind for sure. However, you have to remember that the pay rates at Frontier are from a LOA signed to help the company during bankruptcy. The current rates are going to return to the pre bankruptcy rates in a year or two, which will be a nice increase over the current pay rates. Then, the contract is amendable a year after that.

The pay rates that UAL/DAL/AA have now, are Post bankruptcy, Post merger rates. Frontiers current rates are still bankruptcy rates. I would expect to see Frontier pay rates go up in the future. They will not equal the rates are the big three, but I think they will close the gap for sure.

When you are making decsions about a long term career, you can't get wrapped up in such a short term thing as the current pay rates that are going to change in a year or two anyhow. What Frontier has going for it is a very friendly culture. We are all like family at Frontier and everyone treats each other with a great deal of respect. This is a great company to work for. In addition to the excellent culture that makes working here a joy, we also have some of the best work rules in the industry. The way that we can manipulate our schedules is excellent. We can easily add/drop/ and split trips. You can really easily drop a victory lap off your schedule if you want to get home early, or add a high credit turn to pump up your pay check. Our current pay rates are not the best, but out scheduling and corporate culture are. Once our pay rates snap back to pre bankruptcy rates, our CAs will top at 166/hour and an FOs 104/hour, with the contract amendable in 2017.

There are a lot of great reasons to work at Frontier, and I hope that anyone who is interested inst turned off based on the current pay rates alone. It has been an absolute pleasure working here, and I would encourage anyone interested to apply. The future of Frontier is probably better now than it has ever been. We have more fanicial backing now, and a proven business model. I think the best days of Frontier are ahead

Speaking to Frontier's culture, this is on the FlyFrontier corporate YouTube account: Harlem Shake (FlyFrontier) - YouTube

Those are also a lot of the people that do the interviews. I think it's pretty darn awesome.

And in regards to Frontier's pay, let's not forget that those legacy carriers have left a large chunk of their pilots furloughed off and on over the past 15 years. This is just me personally, but I'd much rather prefer the steady job and the pilot group that goes out of their way to keep me.

Would someone mind posting what the FO rates are for 2017. Hard to justify 1st yr pay if subsequent yrs don't improve significantly. Thank you

Just so you know, FO pay tops out north of $166/hr at DAL now and they run a friendly type ship that the employees treat each other with respect.
You will only get paid what you demand/negotiate and not a penny more.
Its really more the same job than different.
