Absolutely nothing I pointed out is a self directed job action. What I described was putting safety first, flying the contract, and not doing anything whatsoever to help the company.

This group has been repeatedly kicked in the teeth over the last decade which makes it even more frustrating that we are fighting with one hand tied behind our backs. The system isn't set up in our favor and it sucks but all we'll do is shoot ourselves in the foot. Fly the contract and talk to your union reps if you run into issues to it can be brought up and addressed as we go forward.
....and before I get accused, no, I have never picked up open time. I have a <1yr old at home and I commute, my time at home is far too valuable to me. And yes, I will be there on the 19th. I hope to see as many of our pilots there as is feasible.

Calling for pilots to stop picking up open time fits the bill. It sucks for us in a large way, but other pilot groups (Delta, I think it was, back in the late 90s or early 2000s) have done that very thing and it bit them & their union in the ass. The best thing we can do is maintain the status quo to show we are acting in good faith. This includes pilots continuing to pick up open time.

I stand corrected.
However, I still stand by the gist of my post.

I understand the frustration, I'm not trying to bust anyone's chops either.
I just don't want to the see the already lengthy negotiating process slowed or delayed further if we can avoid it on our end.
US Air successfully had an injunction slapped on the pilot group during negotiations.
US Air complained the "union instigated a slowdown under the guise of a safety campaign".
"US Airways had alleged that the union was causing delays and cancellations by calling in fatigued, writing up minor equipment problems, taxiing slowly and by other actions."

Just be normal, picket, and wait for the strike. Nothing we do will accomplish anything until we strike. Franke could give a rats ass what we do until then.

It's a job action if we change our behavior. If everyone tomorrow stopped picking up opentime or didn't take any JA's, that is 100% job action and a judge would throw the book at us. But completely by the contract, though.
