It sounds like even ALPA is selling us short and not wanting to complete a major overhaul of our contract. Anything less than Industry average pay, benefits and work rules will be a NO vote for me. We have been the most underpaid pilot group for years! We operate similar equipment as everyone else but we carry more passengers, Fly crappier schedules, stay in budget hotels, which equals more money per hour in my opinion. Don't listen to Indigo's BS that we are a ULCC and we pay pilots ULCC rates. That argument doesn't work when they buy fuel, lease gate or pay all other fixed expenses, and its centainly won't fly when it comes to pilot pay. I really hope this pilot group for once stands up to these corporate pirates and get whats long overdue.
You said it! The problem is our pilot group. Management knows we like it rough and we like to be put away wet. I hope with all the new hires coming in we can start to change the culture. Hopefully most of us will be long gone before that happens.

Not 6 months with ALPA yet and do not even have a TA in front of you to evaluate and you are crapping all over them ?! WoW

Pilot up to ALPA National structure. Learn the ALPA bylaws and you will get better results. Communicate to your ALPA reps and introduce LEC resolutions.

If all else fails - if/when the TA comes out before the strike (Indigo's style) and you don't like it - vote no. Talking crap about the organization that will get you where you want to go and give you a solid merger policy is NOT the way to go IMO.

I'm worried to see the first TA, I can assure you that it will not pass. I've been ALPA before and was crapped on to use your terms. If ALPA was serious about our negotiations they wouldn't have sent in the B team. I totally plan on a strike happening, there is no other way to get a industry standard contract. So far communications have sucked! Do you even work at F9? I bet not

Come on Guys, Unity is what we need. Don't take your frustrations out on eachother. This is going to be a long process, it always is. Unity.

I do not work for F9 but am an ALPA MIGS and from the sound of it you will be part of the problem and not the solution. I am at United.

If the communication is lacking volunteer for the F9 pilot group in some capacity. I am glad to hear that you are emotionally and financially prepared for a strike because that is what I see for your future.

The B team? When are LEC elections and put in somebody that is part of your "A" team. That is what I meant about bottom up structure. Anyways - I will be on your picket line whenever I am called - first coffee or beer is on me.

It's kind of hard to have any unity when people get jumped any time they something that MIGHT be considered negative about past practices of FAPA. It gets old and people are kinda sick of it.

How dare anyone have a different opinion...........

Depends on your situation. Are you FO or CA? If you are Mesa CA it will take you few years to make your money back. Defiantly don't count on 2 year upgrades. That's the only leverage management has when it comes to attracting pilots. It's basic math, we have 1000 pilots right now upgrades are going around 640ish. We would need at least 1600-1700 pilots. Min 3 years best scenario

Won't the addition of planes starting this fall require lots of upgrades?
