Frontier Hiring.

That's great that they are so wrapped around the axle worying about whether you are looking at any career airlines rather than getting a true gauge of your character. "Gee, who cares if this guy is a total douche bag, as long as he doesn't want to work for anyone else!" If you came to an interview I was conducting and tried to convince me that F9 is the only place you wanted to work I would deduce that you were either a liar or an idiot. Either way I wouldn't hire you. I can't imagine how many good guys we have passed up and who may have slipped in because they can lie to your face and keep a straight face. I'm afraid this myopic approach will bite us in the long run.

How does the new equity agreement with Indigo instead of Republic even work? When I ask almost nobody has a clue. For some reason I have a feeling Franke has a way to make sure nobody will see a penny. If that happens and the lawsuits start were will the money come from to pay the lawyers? Will FAPA union dues go to fighting the lawsuit?

My interview with Frontier at the same location, time, and date as Rick's was very professional. Rick, if you would like honest, constructive feedback from my observations of you on the interview date, please feel free to pm me.

To those who pm'd me about Rick, I will not bash him to you in PM's any more than I will do on a public forum. I just thought, as a former interviewer, I could offer some insight and help him not distract this group from discussing relevant topics. Maybe I should have PM'd him directly, but didn't want to offer unsolicited advice. Sorry for the distraction I mistakenly caused. I'm relatively new to the forum and had no idea the distaste for him that is out there.

To those that have applied and know what the application process is like:
I started my application yesterday, filled out the first page field info, uploaded my resume on the following page and then logged out of the site so that I could come back and finish later. However, I got an email today saying thanks for applying. I think I had an oops moment. No where did it say submit on the form, so I'm very confused. Is the application so short that it ends after submitting your resume?? Or did I likely make a mistake? I logged in today to see what I had and again there was no submit button. I didnt want to upload another resume to see if it would offer another "Next page" option because I'm in the middle of a trip and left my USB at home. Any suggestions?

The Frontier interview process is quite long and involved with multiple steps and many people involved in the process. Several of the interviewers are line pilots volunteering their time. The process works in such a way as to learn as much about a candidate (as can be done in a fairly lengthy day), including character, integrity, honesty, professional aptitude, technical ability, and desire to be a long term Frontier pilot.
But also, one of the biggest questions that is being asked on interview day is the question that the interviewer is asking himself or herself, "Is this person someone I would enjoy flying a 4-day trip with?"
Judging by the quality of the new hires coming online, I personally think our interview process is working very well.

It has been many years since I was hired at Frontier. Believe it or not, Frontier was the only place that I wanted to work. So I was not a liar on the day that I interviewed, and as yet I don't believe that I was an idiot for that decision (although the future may prove otherwise).

In the short time I've been here I've had the opportunity to fly long legs with two pilots who volunteer in the interview process. I spoke at length with them about the process. It was fun to be able to compare the process from my perspective as a recent candidate, to that of the insider's point of view. After lengthy conversation with both pilots, I come away even more impressed with the dedication they have to a fair and productive process. It is clear they are doing the very BEST they can to get the right people here.
They deserve more than to get dragged through the mud by those who didn't get hired.
just my thoughts
