Most out of town guys bid for this on purpose to save the expense of putting themselves up in Denver. You will bid according to class seniority on sim slots. There is a rumor of a second sim in Denver opening - don't know when it will happen.

4.) Sure many guys go home on the weekends during training, or if they get some time off between events. I watched many in my class do it, even all the way out to Florida. Some guys went every weekend, some only occasionally. In fact you must do four segments of jump-seat observation rides before starting IOE, and this is a perfect opportunity to kill two birds with one stone. As an adult you should feel free to balance your study and family-time as you see fit.

To add a quick note. You need to do a minimum of 4 observation rides and you are listed for the flight as a must ride, unless of course you don't show up or a fed needs the seat. The commuters in my class did this every weekend as there is no limit on how many observations flights you can go on, and the training dept is more than happy to list you for every weekend if you like. However, the fun does expire at some point during sim training, can't remeber when.

In my class we also made it a point to let the commuters have the out of town sim locations to save them money. It's handed down by seniority, but most people wanted to be helpful.

Frontier had a great time at the job fair. All the recruiters were welcoming and spent a ton of time with each candidate. Good luck to those interviewing in the next couple of weeks. Congrats to those who were hired today.

I was in the July class... you have to have your 4 obs rides done by sim 4... contractually, they have to give you 3 days off after training... I had a week off between ground and sims and another 4 day stretch off during sims... I got the minimum 3 days off between the loft and ioe... they tell you not to study before class and you shouldnt... they tell you in a very basic way, "this will be on your oral. You need to know this."... they're not out to fail anyone or make your life difficult... the process can be stressful but it's not overly difficult... our class was 18/18 on passing everything on the first try... it's been a blast here so far... EVERYONE I've flown with has been max relax

Are they still making new hires provide their own lodging during training? Also, with the strong possibility of an East coast base in the near future, are the Chicago bases in jeopardy of closing? I have an interview coming up soon and live an hour outside of Chicago. Tailwinds!

MDW I believe will be only be servicing TTN. Moving the base over to ORD. Very high probability that you will be based in ORD. If you do not get ORD of the bat should be easy to bid into ORD. Yes, on providing your own lodging during training. If you get hired share a room with another new hire. Very little chance of ORD closing. Any of you ORD pilots would like to chime in please do so.

If anyone who works at Frontier or has recently interviewed has any feedback on the company that would be a great help. I did not see the answer to these questions on the thread.


1. What is the minimum scheduled days off per month?


2. What is your average number of days a line lasts?
Are they commutable? Etc.


3. Is there any talk of a new contract(date) with higher wages or other changes?


4. Any possible new information regarding a new base in KTTN, KPHL or KILG? Is this a real thing or just a rumor?



5. General quality of life on the line at Frontier?


6. This thread was not 100% clear on who pays for room during training? Single occupancy? Who chooses the hotel? Cost to pilot if we have to pay?


7. After interviewing how long will it take to hear if you were hired? On the spot? A week? Etc.




I read about a PM a few times on this thread, but do not have access?
Anything else that you might find helpful for a person considering Frontier?
