I personally know multiple people hired recently at legacies with no TPIC. If Frontier thinks targeting those type of applicants will stem attrition, I think management will be disappointed. If anything, adding an A320 type rating with time in type will only make them more competitive. Targeting applicants who already live in a base would probably be marginally more effective.

I'm not buying it.

My class had three AF guys - one that flew 747s and was the squadron CO, one that flew C-141s, and one that flew F-15s. He was a squadron commander, as well as a top gun (or whatever it is in the AF) graduate, AND he ran the ROTC program at a major university.

Additionally, we had at least one 121 captain, a 121 check airman, and multiple guys with a couple grand worth of 91/135 TPIC.

Based upon that info, I can confidently - without any doubt - say that Frontier is not avoiding guys that can move on in a very short time.

I believe the driving factor is qualified guys who will fit in very well within the pilot group, the company culture, and truly believe in what the company is trying to accomplish.

Okay. You guys know more about it than I. I do stand corrected, just offering up an outsiders perspective.

Certainly didnt mean to step on any toes.

100% concur with this opinion. My class also had several military guys (C-130, Blackhawks, P-3 instructor, etc) lots of guys with 121 TPIC, 747 freight guys, and several very experienced 91 capts.

Common thread...qualified guys who will fit in very well within the pilot group, the company culture, and truly believe in what the company is trying to accomplish.

Hey all,

So I was wondering if it is worth attending this job fair as I have the day off and I live near by. I'm at 2510 total, 40TPIC, 950 total pic, 1700 Turbin. All of my Turbin time is in B1900 and Saab 340 so no jet time.

I know I won't be able to speak to spirit due to their job fair minimums and I have heard a lot of negative things about Allegiant which leaves me with Frontier who from what I heard from a friend who works there is not so bad and it is better than where I am at today

I didn't get rejected yet by frontier when I applied with my recent amount of hours so do you think I would have a chance going to the job fair?

Keep networking. Get that silver bullet. Your lack of jet time isnt an issue. I interviewed with plenty of TP folks. Smile till it hurts...

Yes, go to the career fair.! In my short experience at Frontier, I can tell you they value TP time. They feel you can fly and that's important, hence why so many pilots at frontier come from lakes with no jet time.

Going to a career fair is how I got my first gig, I was well below the mins, but showed up with a good attitude.

Thank you all for the advice! I just signed up for the job fair and I'm looking forward to hearing what they have to say about my position and I hope to get my chance with them

I live real close also and wasn't planning on going due to not having the 500 TPIC but with Frontier now coming I'll be there.

It's a 500 pic requirement... not 500tpic... it can be in a 150... their minimums are much but they do stick to them... I don't know if frontier is gonna be like spirit and make the job fairs basically a "requirement" but going can only help... in my interview I was told they hire people, not pilots and that they could teach a monkey to fly an airbus... I had over 3000 of jet 121 pic and I was never even asked about the legacies... if you show them you'll fit in and you want to be there, they'll hire you
