it's official FAPA is negotiating lower rates

news flash: The sky is falling! Frontier pilots destroying the airline pilot profession by agreeing to a pay cut of 0% off cba rates!
Dang! It's going to suck to be me. After receiving pay increases in January, February and March of this year, you mean I'm not going to get another one in July or next January? That sucks! On top of that, I won't receive a longevity increase in 2012? YGTBFKM!!!! And worse, I'm only going to have 18 days of vacation in 2012? That really screws the pooch as I was counting on having 18 days off straight on 3 different occasions next year. $h!+! I guess now it'll be more like 17 day blocks. And hmmmm, that 401K thingymabob. It looks like management is going to take a 6 month reprieve from their matching donations, but then they have to start again after 6 months (reduced then working back to full match). Well at least their 6% DC contribution will remain in place.
Oh well, I guess I'll just have to get used to cashing a paycheck every 2 weeks that looks an awful lot like the ones I've been cashing the last 2 months. As in SAME EXACT HOURLY PAY RATE!
Sorry to be throwing all y'all under the bus on this one guys. I fear for the effects of these concessions on the livelihoods of all my buddies working at Delta, United, JetBlue, Alaska, Southwet and even FedEx. It's going to suck to be you once your management gets a hold of the actions of these profession saboteurs known as FAPA.

They are the rates we signed up for under our current CBA. During BK, we took a 10% cut off of the CBA rates. We didn't negotiate new ones, simply applied a 10% cut initially. FAPA negotiated a timeline for an incremental reduction of that 10% back to 0. The entire time, longevity increases and COLA adjustments remained in place. The pay schedules never changed. And that is what we have been working back to. My rate right now is probably about $3.00/hr. less than it would have been had we not made that deal. I guess it is going to stay that way for a year. Who knows, maybe I'll still have a job at that point.
