Did someone say Seabury??
I remember the day I saw the term sheet they dropped on YX like it was yesterday. I think it was the same day I said to my wife it might be wise for her to look at full time employment again.
I am happy to have started over than to have succumbed to those demands. Flying a 717 scaled out at $47 was not ever an option one can consider.
Good Luck, you will need it.

Same job, different pay and bennies. FWIW, my previous lifestyle of a senior RJ pilot who drove to work vs. a junior mainline F/O who commutes on RSV, doesn't compare. I left the good life behind, at least for now.
That includes the pay, BTW.

I can't believe you would equate this with being a scab. RJ pilots want nothing more than to "hop scotch" the system by being put on the major's seniority lists without doing any of the things I did to get on the seniority list. Many RJ pilots want date of hire on the major's seniority list. I don't consider them scabs...just unrealistic.

And what almighty things did you do to get on your airlines seniority list that apparently every RJ pilot hasn't done? I (as the majority of RJ guys I know) instructed for several years, flew several years of 135 and 91 turbine, have now put in 11 years at a regional (19 years flying, 10000 hours) so that is what I would bring as a new hire to the bottom of a major seniority list. Not that I want to come, it would take years to get back to the pay and QOL I have now. Just because you hate RJ's (since you gave away scope) doesn't mean every one of us got hired with 300 hours out of a bridge program Daddy paid for. You can have your Major seniority, loose the paranoia of a flock of RJ guys wanting to take it from you. Most of your posts make sense but seriously, this is way out of whack...

excuse me? I've been flying an RJ for 11 years now, and I (nor ANYONE I have flown with) would never dream of leapfrogging anyone seniority wise if we went to a Major. We would expect to start at the bottom just as everyone else, just like some major 60 year old retirees did when they came to my regional to fly to 65 when it became legal.

Form 8-K for REPUBLIC AIRWAYS HOLDINGS INC
10-Jun-2011
Other Events
Item 8.01 Other Events.
On its first quarter 2011 earnings call, Republic Airways Holdings Inc. (the "Company") announced a program to restructure the Company's subsidiary, Frontier Airlines, Inc. ("Frontier"), by making changes to its network, fleet allocation and operating costs to improve overall business results by $100 million annually. A part of that effort included restructuring wages and benefits, including the Frontier pilots (the "Pilots") represented by the Frontier Airlines Pilot Association ("FAPA").
On June 10, 2011, Frontier reached a tentative agreement with FAPA pursuant to which FAPA agreed in principle to, among other things, (i) the postponement of certain pay increases, (ii) reduced Company contributions to the Pilots' 401(k) plan, (iii) reduced accruals for vacation days and sick days and (iv) an extension of the collective bargaining agreement by two years (collectively, the "Investment"). The agreement is subject to ratification by the Pilots and final board approval by the Company. The vote on ratification is expected to conclude by June 17, 2011.
In exchange for the Investment, FAPA will receive an equity stake in Frontier. The Company has agreed to certain other conditions which must be met during the term to continue the Investment by FAPA. Those conditions include aircraft growth at Frontier, a liquidity raise of at least $70 million by the Company through one or more debt issuances or other financings, material execution of Frontier's restructuring program by the end of 2011, and a good faith effort by the Company to attract equity investment(s) in Frontier that would reduce the Company's ownership of Frontier to a minority interest by December 31, 2014. In addition, the Company has agreed to establish a profit sharing program for Frontier employees.
