UPS,
The name "Frontier Airlines" was purchased from Continental by former Frontier management to start up a new airline. The old Frontier was purchased out of bankruptcy by People's Express who was owned by Frank Lorenzo's gang, who incidently owned Continental. Continental was the surviving brand in that mess and they had no use for their rights to the Frontier name so the sold it.
I don't know what you were trying to insinuate with "not the real Frontier" or "don't mistake them for a Legacy", but the new Frontier by almost every metric is bigger and better than the old Frontier with a further reach in route network and a larger more modern fleet. The main difference between old and new is that the old Frontier didn't make it out of bankruptcy alive, while the new Frontier not only is planning to exit bankruptcy alive and intact, but it is also one of the very few major airlines to remain profitable on both an operating and net basis for all of 2009.

They did.
Southwest Airlines and American Airlines are non ALPA carriers, yet they are the best paid pilots in the industry. They simply undercut ALPA carriers for a few years. IE lower wages and b scale. Competition lets say. They drove the ALPA carriers into bankruptcy, then captured the higher wages. Bada bing, Bada boom.
ALPA leaders never took a pay cut, they are comfortable in their Monday 12pm to Friday 12pm world. Keep the dues coming in for ALPA, you will save a flight pay loss, lazy selfish idiot if you do not.

As a F9 Pilot listening to all this crap on here I just have to laugh.
Hey Killer, Republic didn't buy Frontier OR Midwest.... Republic Airways Holdings did. Republic is just another certificate under the Republic Airways Holdings umbrella just like Chautauqua, SHuttle, etc. You never had a brand other than the mainline carriers you code-shared with. That may change now because that is just what RAH bought.
Southwest is like WalMart and Republic is like Target.... What an idiotic statement. I didn't know those boys at walmart got paid that much!
TrojanCMH-- quit talking all this "RAH contract this, and RAH contract that" You have to remember that there are other contracts in the mix here as well and Yours does not automatically trump the others. If BB wants to keep F9 separate he will. For the record though we are all under the assumption that we will be integrated.
Hey Rat, MD80 and all the other Midwest people out there talking about scabs and how "they took our jerbs" etc... I hope you don't represent the majority of your pilot group.
I've stayed off of this site for about a month and now I remember why. I'll see ya'll in a month or so!!

He already tried once. The difference between contracts here is that the RAH contract was agreed to by RAH and set the precedence for how things like forced integration should happen. The fact that RAH purchased someone else still falls under the umbrella of the already binding contract. The only way F9 is not integrated would be either an illegal action by the company, which would be grieved, or the complete sale of the airline.
